14 days out and feeling strange!!
Hello everyone!,
Congrats the everyone for being on the "other side". Last week I felt really good. I was able to walk around for a while and putz around the house even though my belly still felt rough. Now I'm 14 days out an I feel like I'm gonna pass out just getting dressed. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on?? I started eating small amounts on schedule, like 2oz. cream of wheat. It is very satisfying and feels great going down. I'm getting the recommended 75 grams of protein in my drinks as well. So, anyone else feel like they are going backwards? My stomach muscles feel good now and I wanted to get in some short walks, etc. but now my heart races as if I'm over excerting myself and I have to go lye back down for a while. Does anyone have any idea why I'm feeloing overexerted???? Thanks for everyone's help in advance.
Hello,
Boy this is sure hard work at first isn't it? I wound up very anemic and the Dr. sent me right to the emergency room. If this iron doesn't work they are planning a blood transfusion. I thought I was gonna die! I'm forcing myself to eat and dring especially the protein. It is absolutely disgusting now! Please make sure your iron and all your blood levels are ok because that's what almost put me right back in the hospital. I amvery weak and can't do much but the iron will work in a few days.
Take care and please get all you are supposed to have. I know it's hard.
Just a few sugestions, I'm one month out yesterday! When I was 2-3 weeks out I felt the same way you are now. It could be two things, I kept getting dehydrated so I kept feeling weak and light headed like I was going to pass out. If it bothers you to drink water try and add some lemon to it, that seems to do the trick, and if your drinking gaterade I would try and cut that out for a few weeks. Also, I would watch your blood presure, it's probably dropping really low. I've never had a problem with my bp before surgery, but since surgery it's been really low and that can also make you feel weak and light headed. I hope this works for you! *hugs*
Hello Katie,
The Dr. wound up sending me right over to the emergency room because he said either I had heart failure or low blood counts. Thank god it was my iron. I'm on iron now and trying to get in all the liquids and protein I need. It's really hard to eat and drink when I don't feel like it. I am still very weak but am able to carry on a conversation without getting confused now. Wow, anemia really messes with the body. Just wanted to let you know I'm fighting my way back, trying to get all my water and proteins in. Thanks for your concern!
Take care and congrats on being a looser
Peace,
Elena
At 2 weeks out, one day I would feel like Wonder Woman, the next I'd feel like crap. Make sure you're getting in enough water to prevent hydration and that you're taking your vitamins. Walk whenever you can. Remember, 5 minutes of walking is better than nothing, right? There were some days where I would walk 15 minutes three times a day and other days early out when I could barely walk 5 minutes without wanting to cry.
You're doing fine! You're still healing and your body is going "what the hell did you do to me?".
Hugs,
Heather
Hi Heather,
Thanks for your response. The Dr. wound up sending me to the ER for bloodword and an EKG. Thank god it was only my iron and other low blood levels. I was looking at a blood transfusion if the iron didn't work but today I feel a little better. I made it to the garage to get something!!! I'm very weak but time will heal. I'm struggling to get in all the protein and water but it will get easier.
Thankd again and take care,
Peace,
Elena
Thank you everyone.
I guess I am having trouble staying hydrated. I didn't realize how hard it would be even though I do love water. I realized that during the middle of the day too much time would go by without a drink. bad, bad... so today I am working hard at drinking even though I'm full. Sip, sip, sip is what I keep hearing. I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I have no support system in place at home.
What would I do without you!!!
Hi Elena -
Are you on any blood pressure medication? I had the same problem, and it turned out that I needed to reduce my bp meds, and now I am totally off of them, and the lightheadness and fatigue has not been as bad. Like you, my pulse would race and I would sweat whenever I did anything, and it was because my blood pressure was too low. I would talk to your doctor and make sure everythings ok.
Hope this helps -
Take care,
Heather
