How much have you lost, May babies?
I had open RNY on May 1st, and I am feeling pretty good. I just have to watch my carbs because they make me a little tired and nauseous. It's not a full blow "dumping syndrome", but I don't feel myself. Now before anyone flames me, I'm talking about whole wheat crackers, not brownies..hee. heee.
I have lost about 37 pounds so far. 22 pounds the first 2 weeks. I am in onderland and only 13 pounds away from halfway to goal (48 pounds to normal BMI-63 pounds to my goal). That is just crazy.
However, I have lost this much weight before by becoming an exercise fiend, and I notice this time my body is a lot mushier than 2 years ago at this same weight. My surgeon won't give me the full exercise release until 8 weeks out, so I've just been walking 3 miles a day about 4 or 5 days a week.
I am down from 18-20w (2x) tops to xl tops, and from 18w pants to 14w or 16 missy pants (I can do 14 missy pants, but I don't like the muffin top from my tummy.
Hope everyone is having a blessed week!
Darlene

Well, I'm not very tall. And 100 pounds overweight is no small hurdle. I've been on diets consistently since 2nd grade, only to always gain back more. My husband is handsome & fit & I've felt like an embarassment to him (not that he says anything, but when I lost the weight last time, he took my picture into work for the 1st time & kept it on his desk...hmmm, I don't need to read between the lines)
Mostly I did it for me. We have King's Island season passes & some of the roller coaster rides were getting nearly impossible to click the seat belt & I didn't have the energy to play with my kids. I had pre-diabetes (insulin-resistance) & my knees were beginning to hurt (have already had rt knee ACL reconstruction from trying to do the limbo without remembering just how fat I was)
You are my inspiration to get my butt moving everyday. When I don't feel like walking around the neighborhood, I tell myself, Megan & doing incline walks & exercise bike & weights...I can at least walk.
Keep up the good work!
Darlene
I just checked out your page - can I Just tell you HOW beautiful you are? My goodness... you're already drop dead gorgeous. I can't imagine what you'll be like THIN. Watch out hubby - you're going to have a SUPPPPER MODEL as a wife!! WOOT WOOT. I was bragging about you today, Darlene, to one of my girlfriends. She told me I Was doing great - and I said "OH NO - You need to know about Darlene" hahaha!
Dang you guys are doing so awesome. I'm down only about 14 pounds and i'm 3 weeks out. The surgeon said not to worry about it, it'll come off in its own time but BOY OH BOY i'd like it to come off quicker. I get to go back to the gym today so we'll see what happens in the next week or two. Be Well, ANDI
