Hi everyone! I'm 4 weeks out and just entering the "soft foods" phase. I was just thinking how nice it would be if we all shared our daily menus so that we can get new ideas! This is what I'm having today: Breakfast: scrambled egg with a bit of shredded cheese Lunch: tuna salad made with low fat mayo, 2-4 whole wheat Ritz crackers Snack: protein drink (ick, I'm still having trouble choking these down!) Dinner: pot roast made in crockpot, cooked carrots Something else I tried for lunch yesterday was a piece of chicken from Kentucky Fried chicken (removed the skin). Anyone else have good menu ideas? Thanks! Deanna

Hi Deanna, I had cottage cheese for breakfast Protein Drink for lunch-due to errands Rotiserri (sp) chicken for snack Dinner I think will be spigetti (sp) w/meat balls and whole wheat pasta-only a few strands!!!!!!! I have had grilled salmon, green beans cooked to death, wendy's chili, 1/4 lean hamburger patty w/cheese, mashed baked potatoe, tuna salad-- that's all I can think of right now. I think it is a great idea to share so we may have more options!!! Pat

LOL mines nothing exciting yet. Still in liquid phase for the next 2 weeks. Jello pudding hot tea water soups strained creamed broth all low sodium. sf or no sugar added and low fat I praise the day I can start my puree. there are so many veggies I love to grill and will give a whirl in the MAGIC BULLET. I am not even touching any protein as it will NOT move past my mouth w/o me gagging. Bad bad situation here. I spoke with my Dr about it already. All is ok so far. You guys have such a nice selection up there going on! YUMMY! Hugs! Shele

Hi TJ! I'm so glad you mentioned that you put cashews in your chicken salad. That sounds awesome!!! How are the South Beach bars? Do they chew up well? I desperately need to try protein bars instead of drinks ... still gagging on them! Yuck! Thanks for your ideas! Deanna

Yes they chew up very well, but they will make your mouth pretty dry. That is why I only eat 1/2 at a time

You mentioned that you're having trouble drinking the protein drink, I'm not a big "shake" drinker by all means but I'm actully drinking Carnation Instant Breakfast that it's actully not that bad at all! If you want to try this, make sure you get the blue box because that's 0 sugar added, they have vanilla and chocolate. Also for a variety, I put the vanilla in the blender with yougurt, strawberries, ice, and skim milk! Let me know how this works out.

Just curious how the KFC chicken went for you. Ive been scared because its fried, well pressure cooked in oil. No dumping? Sue

Hi Sue! No, I didn't dump on the KFC chicken. I pulled most of the skin off and just picked the chicken off the bone. It tasted absolutely heavenly! I think it's really moist to begin with but I also chewed it up really well. I had some leftover that I reheated and that didn't turn out so well ... it just doesn't reheat very well and it didn't tasted good. Anyway, the first time around it tasted so wonderful! Good luck!
