What to eat????

Hello all... I am almost 2 weeks post-op (Tuesday will be 2 weeks) and am on a full liquid diet, well I am truly getting tired of chicken broth & tomato soup, I do not like any type of cream soups and am sick of the sf jello, nsa applesauce, the sf pudding is ok and the sf popsicles. I need some help, any ideas on what else I could eat?...Ti...

Hi there - I've been getting fresh soups from the grocery store (better than canned!), adding unflavored Unjury protein powder to it (tasteless!), and blending it together. I also make different protein shakes using the Unjury protein powder. I had started out eating protein-enhanced pudding and applesauce like you, which satisfied my craving for "sweet", but found that I was craving salt and more flavor. The soups seemed to satisfy this. have you tried, Malt-o-Meal Cream of wheat Oatmeal Cottage Cheese Yogurt Good luck, it won't be long til' your on Pureed's!! ~Alison

Alison, I have always loved cream of wheat and oatmeal with sugar and butter of course. How did you fix yours after surgery so that it tasted good. I am wanting to have some but wonder how to mix it. It is just awful plain. --Angela

Hi Angela, I used Equal for my sugar (Splenda give me headaches) once in awhile i'll use a lil' Cinnamon. at that time, i made it thin.. now i have it thicker. I use 1% milk, i couldn't stand Skim milk.. If i use butter it is a VERY small amount, and i use "i can't believe it's not butter" butter... hahaha If i feel i want a sweet lil' snack, i toast up 1 slice of wheat bread and i use "apple butter" or some other sugar free preserve. (jus****ch the carbs on the sugar free stuff, and the sugar alcohol) I noticed when i wanted to chew on something, i'd have a stick of sugar free gum, and was getting the dumping from it... then i read the label better.... and it has sugar alcohol in it... soooo i no longer chew it..... I stick with 3 meals a day, and i allow myself 2 lowfat/sugarfree snacks. and i usually try to pick something that is packed with protien. i had been having a shake in the morning, carnation instant breakfast, but it didn't like me..... would spend alot of my morning in the bathroom.... it's trial and error..... to see what our new tummies are gonna allow us! It was my Birthday Saturday (june 3rd) and i went up to the club to shoot darts.. I had 1/2 a beer, i was satisfied, and didn't want anymore. and wasn't drunk! lol trial and error though...... i 'm sure if i would have drank it all, i would have been drunk or in the bathroom prayin' or sittin' or both! LOL hahahaha Good luck to ya though!!! ~Alison
