Surgery is Tuesday!!!

Hi, folks! John in West Alabama here. I will have my lap RNY on May 30th. My DR does warn that if my abdominal wall is too thick he will switch to open. Of course I would rather it be lap but I'm doing it no matter what!!! I'm a little nervous, tense, excited, but from all I read here, that is normal. I'm a little worried about coming home and doing the liquid stage - I want to make sure I get my protein! Worried about taking care of myself (like going to the bathroom!) I am 45 years old and (ashamed to admit) 503 pounds. I've been obese my whole life but only this super morbid obesity in the last few years. At my all time highest weight right now. I am ready to reclaim my Life!!! Words of prayer on Tuesday will be heartily appreciated.

John, how excited you must be - I amjealous! I am still waiting . I will keep you in my prayers and I will be thinking of you Tuesday morning hopeing that all will go well. I am sure it well. When you get back update us so we know you are o.k.

Hi John, Congratulations on your upcoming journey. You will do fine. Just remember to take it easy and take one day at a time. Do you have someone to help you at first? The first 4-5 days are the hardest, but just don't push yourself and you will be fine. Remember to sip, sip, sip, sip. Pat

Hey, Pat! I see you are from Charlotte. I used to be a Resident Artist with Opera Carolina and did lots of work with Children's Theatre and Theatre Charlotte! Used to LOVE Lupies and Athens! I do have some help for the first days. And I will remember to keep sipping! I'm a little worried about getting enough protein! John
