Help guys!! I'm 11 days post op and not losing...
Way frustrated....
Left the hospital at 272... was down to 254.4 as of Saturday. I've been at this weight since. This morning I was 254.8! What the heck? I'm only 11 days post op I should be DROPPING weight drastically not holding still. UGH! I'm working out like crazy (3-4miles on the treadmill AND 4-7 on the bike). I was not released on liquid diet - I'm on pureed/soft foods. I don't eat anything between meals and my portions are very small. I'm getting in all of my protien and carbs are low. What the heck?!
Not to get too personal, but have you been going to the bathroom yet? If you haven't had any BM since you got home, it's could be the extra weight from backing up.
Also, you should ddo your best to get your water in every day. It helps clean out the system and keep things moving.
You'll get through this and start losing again. Stick with it and it will work for you.
You might be gaining Muscle!! If your not seeing a LOSS at the scales, check your measurements!!! if could be showing there!!!
I too have been frustrated with loss, but i know i'm doing what i need to be doing, i'm just a slow loser i guess..... HAHAHA
Keep up the good work!! 3-7 miles is ALOT considering your only 11 days out!!
I'm only up to 3 or 4 miles a day!

I'm 3 weeks post op today. I was actually glad to see your post, because it tells me maybe this is a normal thing going on.
I lost 10 lbs the first week, 9 lbs the second week, and today when I weighed, I hadn't lost ANYTHING this week. I'm trying to just weigh once a week (hard to do sometimes) so I don't drive myself crazy with the fluctuations. I posted about this on the men's board, and someone told me that it's normal. Everything is still settling and adjusting. When you think about it, our bodies have just gone through a major trauma, and it makes sense that nothing is going to happen "normally" for a while.
It sounds like you're doing great! keep up the exercise. You sound like you're a machine!
I'm walking 30-40 minutes day, and it feels great.
take care!
Makes me feel much better that some of you are seeing the same thing. Perhaps I'm just too impatient to get this weight off. I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't put it on overnight so I can't lose overnight. UGH!!
As far as weighing - oh no - I have to weigh everyday or the scale will bite me. hahaha
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, like Joe S and you. Monday was my 2 week point and I was losing quick at first but it stalled. Today I weight a little more than I did on the 19th. Hopefully the loss will kick in again soon but it's good to hear it's not rare for it to stop like this so soon out.
Hi Kristen,
Thanks for asking!! I'm doing amazingly well. I had my two week appointment yesterday and the whole team (Surgeon, NUT, Therpist and RN) all thought I was doing amazing - much further ahead of plan then they had expected. That made me really happy.
As far as getting that many miles in - I just do.. I'm not sure what you mean?
