Me! I just posted my introduction also. I am checking into the hospital on the 30th and will have my surgery at 7:30am on the 31st. I am excited too but scared of the pain. Can't be much worse than 26 hours of labor without drugs right?

Me too, and the bag is partly packed. Everybody says we should take our own toothbursh/paste and chapstick of some kind. Slippers for the "bari shuffle down the hall and a pillow for there and comfort on the way home. I'm taking shower needs and baby wipes and my cell phone/charger a notebook and pen, and a phone number list. I know we are only scheduled in for a few days but if there are complications, I want to be ready for a longer stay. But I got a list from the nice folks at St Mary Mercy, along with detailed information about supplies I will need. I hope your doctor's office provided you with that! And I've been stocking up on various protein drinks for months. And jello and soups and teas and boullion and, and, and ..... Now, if we are limited to lifting only five pounds, how will I bring this bag home??

I am scheduled for the 31st, since I am second up, I am staying home the night before and arriving in at 730 am. I have only recently started thinking about a bag. book, music, portable computer and cell phone. I teased the nurse I was going to order pizza to be delivered since they said ice chips the first day ;) hope to chat with everyone more through the coming days

Hi, good luck with your surgery on the 31st. I also have mine that day. I'm bringing a robe, slippers, nightgowns, chapstick, toiletries, loose outfit to wear home, cell phone and charger, a novel, crosswords, sudoku. ( I don't know if I'll be able to do any reading or brain work because the anesthesia makes me feel fuzzy for a few days)I need to remember to put a pillow in hubby's car for the ride home. I've stocked up on a few things for home. SF FF jello, SF popsicles, clear broth soups, crystal light, carnation instant breakfast. I bought protein powder sample packs and have tried them already. I found a few I like but everyone says I might not like them after surgery so I haven't gone crazy buying big containers. I'm excited, nervous, anxious.... Paula
