Very nauseated...need suggestions
I am 4 days post op and was doing well; started with nausea this evening and it hasn't let up. I keep tasting cottage cheese and Instant Breakfast. I have always been a milk drinker; how does lactose intolerance after surgery develop for those who get it? I have tried gas-x but no relief thus far. Any suggestions? I really HATE to throw up and so far, I haven't but it sure feels like I will.
Thanks,
Jennie
oh honey...what a horrible feeling. I am with The Awesome Diva on this one...peppermint tea usually tames the beast...or even sugar free peppermint hard candies. Have you drank anything hot or warm yet? Could something be lodged? Are you eating to fast when you do? Could be a number of things. If it doesn't go away with some warm tea I would call your surgeons office. Don't let something like this go to long especially when you don't know what it could be...Early on it is soo hard to tell. My best friend was like that post op for a while but nothing was wrong. Best of Luck...
Hugs!

Sorry your feeling queezie Jennie,
Im the famous peppermint tea girl. I live on the stuff. It helps calm the pouchie. And I start my day with it. Everyday.( I was a coffee addict until day b4 surgery) Traded for the teas. I know every Dr is different but I am 17 days post op and I have been on liquids the whole time my dr finally released me to cream o wheat or cottage cheese last tuesday they have to be VERY THIN watery. Your new tummy is still healing and very sensitive. Try Lactaid milk and sip. In the begining if you drink more than a sip you tummy rebels. Sip sip sip. Give tummy time to heal. And too cold or too hot can cause nausea too.Try going back to liquids a day or two. My Dr said that lactose intollerance happens similar to a baby. You pouch is new like a baby and you are also malabsorbing unlike before. You may have to build up a tolerance to milk again, like a baby.
F******y life saver was walking, gas x and a heating pad. I also too LOOONGG showers and let the ho****er fall on my back. WOW really works. Helped me relax too. I promise 1 week from today the REALLY BAD GAS will be a memory.
I hope you feel better soon. Welcome to the Loosers Club
