Home again, home again!
Hi and thanks to each one of you for your concern and prayers. I had surgery on Tuesday; was in OR for 4 hours due to adhesions and a hernia as well as the RNY. Got back to my room about 2 and was up walking at 3. Got Dilaudid IV as I could only have ice chips and no oral medicines. The second day, the started clear liquids and I got liquid Lortab which is quite nasty! I asked them for pills the next time, and they gave them to me and I broke them in half and took 4 halves. I did fine with that but they make me feel like I am zoned out. Does help the pain and lasts much longer than the Dilaudid did.
Walked 46 laps which was nearly 3 miles (total in about 30 hours, that is) and now have sore calf muscles but hopefully that is all it is, and not some clot forming. I got back on Monday to get my drain out.
Again, it is so good to be home! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!
Hugs,
Jennie
Congratulations on being home and on your success. I didn't even keep track of the laps I did but did a minimum of 10 laps every 2 hours except for the 4 hour break they gave us from midnight till 4am. I bought slippers for the hospital and they must have been too loose because I ended up with blisters on both feet by the time I got home.
Now you can relax at home in a familiar environment but please remember to keep up the walking and breathing exercises - they are so important. The more you can walk the faster your recovery will be. Welcome to the losing side!!
