May 31st, will I make it??
Hi Jean
You'll get there
I'm 31st too, but thankfully haven't had to be on any diet beforehand. It's not much longer for you to go, just think of the benefits - you'll have already lost weight before you have WLS so recovery should be better with less risk of complications.
All the best for the next few weeks. Keep busy, the time will fly by and will be here before we know it.
Hi Jean, my name is Jamie and I am in SLC. I am planning on surgery the second week of July. If you need to chat, I would love to support you. My surgeon is Dr. Richards at SL Regional. She has her patients do a one week liquid diet before to shrink our livers. Hang in there dear. Like I said, if you want to chat, just holler.

I too am having surgery on May 31st. I am so excited, and totally nervous too. I don't have to do a liquid diet because I had to do a 3 month diet and drop 30 pounds prior to being approved.
I have a question for everyone though.... I dropped 35 pounds in just a little over 3 months, this was 8 weeks ago. I have gained back 5 pounds because of poor food choices, I have surgery on wednesday the 31st, would my liver gave gotten all nasty and fatty in 8 weeks? lol
Carrie
I am scheduled for May 31st as well, just 24 hours of liquid diet before, nothing but ice chips day of, and regular food the day after, so each one is totally different. I have been on the three month diet as well and was doing fantastic, but just like you, bad food choices the last two weeks have me stalled out, bouncing up and down around my weigh in weight like a fishing bobber. I hope to drop a couple more pounds before wednesday just for safe measure. I doubt that anything undue has happened to my liver in this recent stall, the point is to get it off so that there is more room to maneuver (IMO) so I think that I am good to go.
