Congratulations Maysters
I want to congratulate all of you May 2006 pre-and post-ops. I can well remember the feelings and experiences I had just one year ago. I recommend you go to the May 2005 forum to read what progress we have made in one year. It might help calm any fears you have as you begin this journey.
In my opinion, it will never be "easy". You will have to think about what you put in your mouth each and every day. You will have to learn to exercise on a regular basis, whether you like it or not. But, oh, the tradeoffs. Feeling healthy, being able to move, not standing out in the crowd as the fat lady. It is worth it. The next few months will go by quicker than you can imagine, let alone an entire year.
As a one year graduate, I still begin each and every day with a protien drink. Fortunately for me, I found one I love, and actually look forward to drinking it. I still drink tons of water every day, and I try to follow all of the "pouch rules". With surgery, these things are doable, and you will soon experience them first hand.
Good luck to you as you embark on an amazing year, and an especial big hug to those who share my rebirthday, May 12th.

It's my first day back to work from my RNY on 5/2 and I'm doing great (well, I'd be even better but the weather here in New England is miserable right now.) My pre-op diet gave me a leg up on managing the post-op regimen, and now it seems so much easier as I don't feel the hunger I was feeling before.
I'm a happy guy
