Topic: Going to a gastro
My PCP is sending me to a gastroenterologist to see what's up. My abdominal pain is pretty much gone but I'm having very strange reactions to food right now. My back is still totally spazzed out and I'm on muscle relaxers like candy.
As far as my tummy goes and the strange reactions, I seriously eat 3-4 bites of something and I get that "don't eat another bite" feeling. I'm not full, but I just can't eat anymore. I've also noticed that I'm getting TONS more gas when I eat than before. That seems to trigger my back spasms which is strange. I have lost about 15 pounds in the last 3 weeks. Yesterday I was at 191 (on my period) and I had been hovering around 205 or so. Last Tuesday (the day I was supposed to have my surgery) I was 199, so that's 8 pounds in one week. I honestly am not that thrilled with this because it scares me that I'm not able to eat anything and I'm feeling so strange when I do eat and I'm losing so much so fast. This thing has me really concerned.

Me too, Kathy. Through the week, when I'm working, I'm a gastric bypass angel!!! Come the weekend when my days are no longer structured, I morph into Ms. Pacman and eat everything in sight!

Oh yes, I like routine!!!! But we won't get settled into one until after school starts. We don't start until Sept. 5th. This is only his second week on this crazy schedule. This afternoon he'll come home for 7 hours and then he's gone again for three days - totally SUCKS!!!!! But I leave those 7 hours open so that we can see him as much as we can. Once school starts, the kids will only see him on the weekends.
But I will do better on the eatting thing. Planned out meals and snacks is the best way for me to keep on track!! So, I've got some planning to do.

Shhhhhhh Tracy - don't let my husband here you talk about projects around the house. He'll be leaving me a list of painting and things to do. lol
Yes, I need to sort through all of the kids' clothes (no small task with five kids at home) and figure out what they need to start school. That would keep my busy, I just don't feel like starting it. hahaha

Yup, bordem is a bad thing!!! Hopefully, I'll get busy getting the kids ready to go back to school and forget about the eating thing for a while.

Good luck, Laurie!
I think I can honestly say that we've all been in your place and probably will be again and again.
Sounds like you need to create a routine for when hubby isn't around, if you can. Change of routine is so hard. Even weekends throw me off. There is something comforting about my week days that are structured and planned. (Geek, that I am.)
Hugs, Kathy
