I did eat food yesterday but I didn't stuff my emotions. No, they came flooding out and I can tell you it t'weren't purdy. Far better to let 'em go then stuff 'em down. Things are going to take time to get back to a good place for me. Til then, I'm going try to hang tuff.
Thanks, Wanda!

Topic: Good news... for me anyway
Wanted to share my good news with my Mayster friends. Not sure if anyone remembers but several months ago I was ready to walk out of my job as I overheard my boss talking about me with an employee of MINE... (we later became great friends and after she quit we talk quite a bit)... anyway... for the 1st 6 mo or so I had to CC my boss in on all of my emails, run EVERY decision thru her.... (she micromanages)... and I had had it... she even did not speak to me for days at a time...
On Monday the 21st, I am turning in my resignation from this job.... the job here is better now after my friend quit.. dont ask me why... but my new job is closer to home (40 minutes versus the 2 hours each way I am doing now) and I get a $16,000 pay raise...
May try to talk the current boss into a consulting position for a bit as we are swamped with work and no one else to take over....
Just wanted to share...
Hugs

Hang in there Kathy! At least you're not eating like a bottomless pit like me today! I hope tomorrow is better -- for both of us!

Good luck with the gastro, Michelle. Hope you find your answers. Yes, at this stage in our journey... rapid weight loss can be very scary.

Topic: Crappy Day
My day became pretty darned crappy this afternoon. It is not something I want to discuss here. Just suffice to say I'm not a happy camper and way overstressed. Right now, I'm in food avoidance mode rather than in shovel-everything-in-sight-into-my-mouth mode. I had a protein shake at 3:00-3:30 pm. I guess I'll have to eat something soon. I'm just afraid to get started eating... figuring that I might just keep on going.
I am trying to focus on other things. I just did a bunch of stability ball push-ups, leg lifts, etc. I guess that exercise is a better choice than the alternatives. Good thing I don't drink.
I'll get through this. This doesn't involve health.
Hope everyone else is doing okay.

Topic: RE: chewing gum
yes, my surgeon also said no gum because he said it was dangerous due to the fact that it could get lodged in the stoma (sp?) and then we could need some kind of emergency surgery? I dont know... seems so long since i had that lecture, but I just remember being so freaked out by his 'warning' that I have not chewed gum since before the surgery.... lol.
Also, it is true that it does get your juices going that will make you hungry, and I have never found it to be an 'attractive' quality' on me... because I dont like the way my jaw/teeth look when I chew gum. Just paranoid about it, I guess. When I quit smoking I used the lozengers, and I do use mints from time to time now.
