Topic: RE: Snacking/grazing avoidance strategy
Thanks for sharing this idea. I love ideas that can be tried to distract myself from the urge/drive to graze. It would be cool to hear how it works as we try this out. Mary

Ain't it great to be noticed and in a complimentary way too. Someone I love very much recently went to Ocean City with friends and was walking on the boardwalk eating a slice of pizza when a cute guy walked up to her and smiled and leaned closer toward her and then shouted in her face " LOSE SOME WEIGHT" !! It made me so sad for her. We all remember when the main way we used to be noticed was ...well, not positive. or even worse...not noticed at all Candy, we celebrate with you! Mary

Topic: RE: Whole can of tuna?
Hiya Tracy, I can also eat a whole can of tuna. I find that if it's packed in water ...and we all buy that kind, I use the water/juice - to moisten the salad and then have to use less mayo or dressing. For a quick snack or lunch I even like to dump it over a can of green beans. Your dinner sounded yummm. Mary

Wow, we all had a messed up day today. I went to my surgeon's annual picnic today. We had some good food there. But somehow that was the end of my "organized" eatting for the day. B - oatmeal S - burger no bun L - picnic - pork loin, green beans, baked beans, salad, carrots, celery, and for dessert, fruit bowl (mostly watermellon, strawberries, and pineapple) Looks like a lot but really I only had about 2 oz of meat and a few bites of everything else S - Sun Chips - totally bad, but it's what I could find at the gas station on our 2 hour drive home D - oatmeal S - sf cookies and orange juice (I still dilute my juices though) Laurie

I've had a hard time getting much of anything in. Everytime I eat my abdomen starts spasming which makes my back start spasming and i'm in incredible pain. In the last 1-1/2 hours I've taken a Vicodin, Flexeril, and a Dilaudid - and I'm still in a little bit of pain. It's unreal. B: banana L: corn on the cob S: about 5 Wheat Thin Crisps - veggie flavor D: about 6 nachos I probably won't eat anything else today. This is about the amount I've been eating for the last 2 weeks - if even that much. It just hurts. I've usually gotten in a protein drink most days though, but I'm out of my soy milk. I may mix some protein up in a cup of coffee later, though. Michelle

You taking B complex (aka B50) or B100s? Insulin resistance, eh? I know I've got something. Some type of white carb toleration issue. I'm the only one I know that can gain 7 lbs in 2-3 weeks from 100 extra cals a day. Half of those cals from white flour, I think. My body completely hate it. (These are the Power Crunch bars.) Last one I had was a week ago Friday and I'm down 5 lbs of it. I wish I knew physiologically what was happening, ya know? Wonder if it is a wheat or gluten allergy. Yes, tomorrow is indeed a new day and we can start all over and chose how we tackle the day. Enjoy your dinner. I'll be shrimping soon. LOL! K

Dunno... When they were drawn last Monday, the lab tech said they'd be back Wednesday. I called Wednesday because I was going out of town and the nurse said probably not till next week - they send them to Chicago... I gave her my cell number.... Had some left arm weakness yesterday and my left foot is pretty much totally numb on top... sigh... I've been double-dosing my Bs all week. Although, I'm trying to prepare myself for the fact that it may be insulin resistance, as well - from the research I've done, apparently, that can cause neuropathy, too... Waiting for the food to cook on the grill... it smells wonderful but takes SOOOO long... I'm sure I'm low on protein today... no shakes for me... let's see, some PB, some beef and chicken tonight... yeah, prolly not more than 40 g.... oh well, tomorrow's another day, I guess.

WTF is up with your lab results? They send 'em to another city/county/state/country for processing or what? What day did you have 'em done, Wednesday? If so, I guess 2 days isn't that long though I'm sure it feels like forever when you are looking for answers to why you feel so bad. Hugs, sweetie. Rich is working til 8 pm. I'm busily doing chores and watching trash TV. I bought some shrimp at Costco. Had some last night. Will have 'em again tonight. So shrimp, lemon, ****tail sauce is my dinner. Last night, I had a box of green beans first and ate 5 shrimp and ached like a bandit so tonight I'll stick with the protein. LOL! Breakfast was about 1/2 to 3/4 of an omelette and two strips bacon. 1/2 of what I ate was an onion, shroom, bacon, cheddar omelette. The other half... was a western omelette. Lunch was out too. We had chinese food from the self-serve asian buffet at Wegmans. I just take the meat that isn't breaded or coated and some vegies. Had some Thai chicken, chicken w/ broccoli, beef w/ snow peas, etc. Just a few bites of each. It makes for a great cheap date. $10 feeds both of us. They have nice tables, chairs, sofas to sit and eat at. Snacks: 1 oz peanuts, 2 slices provolone, protein shake. Dinner: Shrimpies! Snack: Protein shake Will be low on protein shakes today. Usually do 3-4 a day. Take care, Kathy
