UGH, bad day for me too. I've been gone to day and didn't leave the house prepared!!! B - oatmeal (7am) L - cheeseburger no bun, apple dippers (1:30pm) Oh yes, nothing for 6.5 hours - Very Very NOT GOOD!!!! S - PayDay PRo bar I saw this at Wallie World and thought I'd give it a try. I like it but too much sugar for me to buy anymore of these. (13g per serving) Instead I need to put in an order for the Rockin' Roll Bars... same concept - like a payday bar - but only 2 grams of sugar!!!! D - chicken And I'm cooking extra so I can make chicken qusidias this week too!!! S - protein drink Water - UGH a medium ice tea and then on the way home a large ice tea. This doesn't usually count as my water because it's not decaf - buuuuutttt - it's all I've had today so I'm counting every drop. laurie

It tasted good going down. But it is hurting like a bad boy in my belly. Yuck. Guess I won't be eating any more corn muffins in the future. I think I chewed it well. Just think my body doesn't like it. I cannot say I've eaten much breads since surgery just a pick of a crust here or there. Maybe it doesn't like the mushiness? Maybe it waded up in a rock formation in there. I chewed a few papaya enzyme tablets. Mustered a small belch. Always a good sign. But man, oh man. Guess Rich will have 11 muffins to eat/take to work. Lesson learned. Kathy

As carb-phobic as I am, I'm wondering if my issues aren't more wheat or gluten related so I'm going to branch out a bit and see how my body responds to other carbs while avoiding these. Since we were having chili for dinner, I thought corn muffins were in order. I altered the recipe as such: 1 cup yellow corn meal 1 cup almond flour (in place of flour... we just ground out own with the food processor) 1/4 cup Splenda (instead of sugar) 3 tsps baking powder 1 tsp salt 1/4 cup canola oil (instead of shortening since it is what I had) 2/3 cup Hood Carb Countdown Milk 1/3 cup half n' half (the recipe called for 1 cup milk but no milk in the house so I invented) 1 egg, beaten Preheat oven to 425. Grease muffin pan. Combine corn meal, almond flour, splenda, baking powder and salt. Mix in oil. Mix the egg and milk stuff together. Add to the dry ingredients. Do not over mix. Just a few strokes to get it blended. Fill the muffin cups about 2/3 full. Makes a full 12 muffins. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes... lightly brown around the edge. I ate one hot (w/ butter of course). Pretty tasty. A tad on the dry side but eaten with chili or something else like butter... they are perfect. Do not know the calorie or carb count. Know that corn meal is 20 carbs for 1/4 cup. Each muffin has 1/12 of a cup so about 6-7 carbs from the corn meal per muffin. Plus all the rest. Kathy Kathy

Hi Mary, So sorry to hear how badly you are feeling today. It sounds like you really need to listen to what your body is telling you and rest. I have a good friend with fibro, and I know how much she struggles with it on a constant basis. I think those of us who don't have it can't truly understand what you have to go through. May you have a better day tomorrow, and let someone else spread all that mulch around to save your lungs. Debra M.

Geniene, Sometimes if I'm still feeling large... I just look at my picture and say "Nope, she is small" and I think *imagine that*. Do take pictures. You'll be amazed to see it. Thanks, Kathy

It's funny...both Rich and my "before" pictures just show two ugly people. Not ugly because we were large but ugly because we felt physically horrid and had such health issues. I do feel refreshed, alive and pretty. A nip or tuck here would help... but given that isn't an option, I'm alright as I am. Body shapers really help. LOL! It has been a long hard ride full of lots of ups and downs. Hated the times when I felt like I was waiting for the next shoe to drop. It feels good to actually feel good... real good. Thanks, honey! Kathy
