Laurie, I'm so afraid of this that I'm going to join Weigh****chers. I've been on a plateau for 3 months. I've actually gained 2 lbs. I don't think the malabsorption thing is working for me at all. I record everything I eat in fit day and usually get about 1700 to 1900 calories a day. I work out 90 minutes a day, every day. I weigh 238 lbs and really want to get to 199, but, really am afraid it is not going to happen. I feel like a kind of failure to join weigh****chers again, but, I don't know what to do. I have upped my Bs - taking 2 doses of B12 daily and 2 doses of the complex in my morning protein shake - been doing that since the numb-hand thingy... no additional problems. Drop foot doesn't seem like it's occurring and just a little numbness on the top of my left foot... I know I should call back, but I feel like I've been harassing them lately with all my visits, calls, etc... If I'm out and about later, I thought maybe I'd stop by and ask for a copy of the results for my records.

Oh and so you know... my doctor had checked B12 and B6 but not B1 - I had asked about B1 but she didn't do it. This was when I had my neurological issues (dragging foot and neuropathy). I upped my B complex on my own despite the results and the symptoms did improve over the span of a couple of weeks so obviously one of those Bs was the issue. Good girl! Take care of yourself. Kathy

Plate up those ovaries and call back and get me your B12 number, will ya? It is is less than 800... up your B12. Lab ranges run from something like 200-something to 1000 or so for "normal".... well neurologist damage can happen in the lower end of the range. Internationally the accepted bottom acceptable number is about 800, I believe. We need to go worldly and use THAT number. Yes, it is POOP. Kathy

Well, my lab results all came back "normal" although I didn't think to actually get the number... I did verify that they DIDN'T do B1 or B6, just B12... They do want me to come back in a couple of weeks, once I'm off the Keflex, for a follow-up... I've been double dosing my Bs since my last appt and while my foot still seems a little numb, I think it may have helped... If I had titanium ovaries, I probably would have put up a bigger stink but to be honest, I'm just not up to it, so I guess I'll see how the next couple of weeks ago and talk to him about the B1/B6 thing when I go in on the 7th...

I know, but I need to see the syllabus - I'm taking 3 this semester, in addition to working full time. PLUS, my PS is the day before the final in December, I need to see if I'm going to have an opportunity to take it early, what the consequences are, etc... If I have to drop it, it's gotta be this week. I'm hoping by this evening, I'll feel halfway decent, I already feel better than I did yesterday. Plus, I figured if I had to, I'd just go, get the syllabus, talk to the instructor and get the heck out... Being a professional student isn't sad at all, I wish I had your ambition. Sad is being 32 with a professional career and STILL trying to finish up your BA...lol

Becky, if ever there is a good time to blow-off class, it's the first night. Seriously. They rarely do anything other than go over the syllabus, tell you what texts you need, and spend a lot of time yapping about the overview of the course. To the extent that there is any substantive instruction, it will more than likely be repeated for all the late registrants who add the class after the first week. Trust me, I'm a professional student (working on my 4th degree). I'll probably be a student until I die. And yes, I know how sad that is.... So, rest up, feel better, and don't worry too much about making it to class tonight if you're not feeling up to it. Hugs, Tracy
