Topic: RE: What an incredible feeling!
Congratulations, Angie, that is good news. I understand the medication thing. I was able to get off my hypertension med right after surgery, and haven't wanted to take any other prescription since then. When I occaisonally have to take Celebrex for my knee pain, I am very aware of taking a drug. Probably most of us were on some medication for our co-morbitites pre-op, just being off of them is a victory.

Topic: RE: Not feeling well
Thanks guys, I needed that encouragement. I did go out for coffee today with a friend, and just getting out of the house after being cooped up (and close to the bathroom) for five days helped. I've always felt like I had a strong sense of self, and have managed to funnel my creative ideas through my hands, quilting, knitting, beading, etc. I love to read, too. So I feel I can fill my time, it's the filling of my heart that will take awhile.
On to tomorrow, as the tummy feels a little better each day.

I've had one of the best days today in a long time!
I saw my PCP today, and we've decided to discontinue my hypertension medication! WooHoo! I've been taking it for 12 years and was up to 200 mg of Toprol XL a day pre op. That is ALOT of Toprol. So, after surgery, we had gradually decreased it over time. A month ago, we dropped the dose to 25 mg. and I did just fine. So, the doc said let's try no meds for a month and see what happens.
I am just so excited I can't stand it. I had no idea that taking medication was such a big deal to me until I was released from it. Health REALLY does mean everything!

I'm opposite of Becky today. I don't feel like eatting. I feel fine, not sick or anything, but I just don't feel like eatting or cooking. The kids are gone today, maybe that's why.
b - oatmeal & 1/2 whole grain bagel w/cream cheese
s - protein drink
l - oatmeal and a handful of SunChips
d - dbl cheeseburger w/o bun
that's it for me. I should at least get in another protein drink tonight, that'd help a little.
