Topic: SF Banana Bread
Ok, I made some fabulous stuff here, and I want to share the recipe, but keep in mind, I read a bunch of recipes and then combine them all together into what I think sounds good, rarely actually doing anything normal.... like measuring.... so, hopefully, I got it down right and if you try it, it comes out good for you, too.
Dry ingredients:
1 2/3 cup all purpose flour
1 cup splenda
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl
Wet ingredients:
4 ripe ripe bananas, mashed - they were med size, not huge
dash of vanilla - maybe a teaspoon?
2 lg eggs, beat lightly
6 tbs melted butter
mash bananas, add melted butter, mix, add lightly beat eggs, mix, add dash of vanilla, mix
I left the bananas slightly chunky
Fold banana mixture into dry ingredients until there's no dry flour left - don't overmix. Pour into greased, floured loaf pan (I used Pam to spray and a little flour to coat) - 9x4ish foil pan.
Bake at 350 for about 45-50 minutes, it's done when a toothpick (in my case, a wooden skewere) inserted in the middle comes out clean.
I just tried a little piece and this stuff is the bomb! It's very moist but not overly heavy with a great flavor but not over strong, either. I didn't put any nuts in it because my family doesn't like them, but I bet it'd be good with walnuts or pecans.
Have fun!

Man I am totally lacking water in my daily plans. I hate the stuff now. I still drink but its usually propel, coffee, milk, crystal light, splenda sweetened tea, SF koolaid. I know pure water is best especially with flushing out toxins but I just cant seem to get back to it. Anyways:
B-cereal and milk
L- 4 chicken wings with celery and light ranch dressing
S- pear and some almonds
D- jumbalaya with turkey sausage
S- protein shake
Candy

Hey, I'm here today, all weekend, actually!
B - oatmeal - plain with some Splenda and cinnamon
L - tossed salad with some turkey and cheese
AS - NSA pb on a slice of ww bread
D - making chili in the crockpot and some corn bread. Also making some SF banana bread with Splenda, as well, we'll see how that turns out.
Haven't done much in the way of water - drinking some iced tea, now. Had lots of coffee. Got some errands to run this afternoon and will probably take Liv to the park to play around.
Other than that, I'm not doing squat!

I'm sure many of you won't be on here this weekend, but I am going to post anyway just so I am accountable for what I do and don't do.
Funny thing happened yesterday after I committed to NO FAST FOOD this month - my dh came home from work and his second words (after I've missed you my wife) were, "wanna go get your 'usual'?" (meaning McDonalds). I told him what I committed to and he didn't understand. He said I was a stick and what difference did it make if I ate there or not since I'm not gaining. what can you do? it's too complex to explain to an non wls person. I know that he loves me though
B - oatmeal and 1/2 bagel (I think the bagels have to go as well, they leave me full for 1/2 a day)
S - skipped it cuz I was too full
L - Tuna (oh yuck, back to tuna again)
S - hot choc. w/ protein
D - ??? I think dh and I are going out tonight so it'll probably be salad and part of his steak
S - another protein drink
Water - working on it. I'm behind already due to the bagel thing.
Vits - none yet (need a confession on that one too. I've been a bad girl here)
Exercise - wooohooo - I did it!!!! I walk all the way around our island and then I jogged 1/2 way around and finished walking the rest of the way. I just have to drive it now and see how far it was. It was a small start - but it was a start!!!

Cary - I thought you had fallen off the face of the earth! I was so sad that Jen didn't have her party this summer. I miss seeing everyone!!!
It's nuts this insurance game crap that we have to go through!!! Been there done that. Is it your insurance that says you have to be 18 mths out?? That's crazy. I was 11 mths out when I had mine, but I was very near goal and my weight had been stable. Basically my hernia couldn't wait anymore and somehow my surgeon got it approved.
Now I'm almost five months post op and geeeezzzeee - I'm still hurting. From the belly button down is soooooo very TIGHT!!!!! Just rolling over in bed hurts. I'm still faithfully wearing my binder thing too. Yesterday I took it off to wash, OMG**** was only off for about three hours, and I was swollen WAY UP!!!! They say that it takes 9 months for a tt to completel heal - and they mean it!!!!!
I'm going back to college in three weeks. I'm taking four online classes this fall. I'm excited about it!!! We did a whole lot of nothing this summer. It's been nice!! But I'm looking forward to the "routine" that school brings our house. The kids are eager to go back to school Tuesday. We're spending our Labor Day weekend just putzing around the house. We've got a burn pile that needs doing, so we'll probably have a nice bon fire tonight.
Keep in touch girl!!!!

Cary! I'm so glad to hear from you! You look marvelous! Congrats on running a mile! I'm so proud of you!
I, too, have been stable for about the past 6 months, although I'm pretty much done, anyway. I've got 5-10 pounds I'd LIKE to lose but it's more of a "just because" thing for me, I think. I have days where I feel like I'm eating everything in the world, and others where I feel like I've done pretty well.
Had a few issues with blood sugar, and working through a few other issues like some numbness in my foot, some cycle problems, but all in all, I feel great! I'm scheduled for a TT and augmentation in December - just about 100 days from now. Unfortunately, the insurance won't cover any of it - I'm self paying... A lot of money, and a lot of guilt associated with it, but something I feel like I need to do complete the journey, yannow?
Please don't be such a stranger - we've missed you!
Topic: Hello Everyone!
Well I know I have been MIA for a while just thought I would check in and see how things have been. I have lost 130lb and holding, dont think I have lost any weight in the last six months. I am attempting to get my tummy tuck/hyernia surgery but I am playing the insurance game now. I have to wait until I am 18 months out, so from now till Nov. I have to go into the docs document my rashes, weight stablization, etc. and hope my hyernia doesnt explode before I am eligible! I think its crazy the hoops you need to jump through, but thats insurance for ya. I find I can eat alot more than I think I should, I had a EGD last month and they injected my stoma to shrink it some. My doc says they may be able to lengthen the leg between my new stomach and my old stomach when they do the tt/hyernia surgery. I am still almost 100lbs from the chart goal weights and 60lbs from my docs goal weight, I find that very frustrating. On a positive note I can jog a mile now, I started with just jogging one house and walking the rest, then every day I added a house. Before you knew it I was jogging a mile without stopping. I would have never thought this possible before. My daughter has moved back home with me and she has just joined the equestrian team at school. I am glad to have her back in riding, I think its good for her. So what is going on with everyone else, I know I have missed so much! Stef, just have to say your wedding pictures are beautiful, looks like you had a great time!
