Bathing Suits...

Has anyone purchased a bathing suit yet this year? The smallest I have is in size 14 and it's too big, so I've been thinking about getting one now while there's a lot to choose from. In the past, if I go swimming once a year, I'm lucky, but we're planning on going to Vegas this fall and I'd like to have one for that. I walked past a bunch at Kohl's yesterday, but my son PLEADED me to not make him shop with me (we went to get him some new shoes) so I though I might go back today. The styles are very cute - do you know that the little swim skirt things that we all took advantage of in our MO days are in style now? Whodathunkit? The thought of trying on and purchasing a suit makes me a little squeamish to be honest... But I'm gonna give it a shot, I guess...

I swim a lot and am always looking for new suits. I suggest you try TJ Maxx ot Marshalls. You can get the same suits at much better prices. When I was in Florida a few weeks ago I got a 770 dollar bathing suit for 15 bucks in a TJ Maxx. I have terrible "bariatric legs" but I don't get the ones with skirts because they bug me when I am working out in them. Julie

It used to be embarrassing to be in a bathing suit because of the fat, now it's embarrassing because of the "broomstick skirt" thighs! But you know, I didn't let it stop me then, and I'll be darned if I let it stop me now! I bought a suit that I think looks great - (other than it doesn't cover my legs to the knees! ha ha ha). A tankini - It has a floral skirt bottom, and a nice bright raspberry colored halter top. I've worn it a few times already at the pool. Good luck with your search!

Kohls seems to have some nice looking suits. I think I'd love to go for a two piece (tankini) but I worry about moving/raising arms and having my belly skin poot out. Around my belly button it is like wrinkled orange peel. Not attractive. So perhaps a one piece would be better. Don't hate my arms... they jiggle but they are liveable. My thighs... ouch. Becky -- VEGAS! If you have a chance, you should look me up while you're here! Fall is a great time for Vegas, weather wise. You'll have a blast at the pool. Will definately look you up when we go... We're thinking late August, Early September - that's when we usually go - it's so hot that the prices are cheap! We've stayed on the strip a couple of times but will more than likely stay on Fremont St. - either the Plaza or Binions... The Plaza has a pool on the roof - which is a plus! We stayed there last time and loved it! It's not Caesar's, but it's decent, and totally inexpensive. Besides, I LOVE being on Fremont Street!

I did go shopping a few weeks ago for a suit. I bought an "emergency suit" last month at Target that did it's job: it was one of those dip low in the front, tie in the backs and had a skirt (all black and white). It didn't give my breasts the support they needed but at least let me have fun at the pool. Although I'm so happy about the pounds I've lost, I still have lots of shaping to do. I too do not like my thighs; hubby says they are fine and that the one pieces looked nice but I begged to differ. I think for me it's that image in the mirror...I still see the old me sometimes. I need to shop somewhere I know I can get some underwire ANd a skirt all together! lol

I've bought 3.... One a couple of months ago when my DH and I went away for a weekend. I had to laugh at myself because I was going crazy looking for a 12 in a trendy shop when I realized that their smallest size was 16...(heehee). Old habits die hard. I bought my first two piece in years... boy shorts with a tank style top... I love it... colorful instead of my hide the fat in black usual.... I also bought a speed suit that I'm really not comfortable in yet... too much back shows.... and the skin is a little loose for my taste... Oh well... maybe by the end of the Summer.
