I just had to open the gym this morning because I won't be home tonight and I know I'll forget!! Today I walked three miles!!!! Pretty darn good for being three weeks out from a total abdominoplasty! It sure felt good to get that walking in. My calves "were" rock hard from all my walking and exercise. One week after surgery they were like jello again (boo hoo) so I'm determined to build them back up. If I got to have fat legs the rest of my life then darn it all, I'm going to have big, chizzled legs instead of fat ones!!! Hugs to all, Laurie

Good job, Laurie! I did 30 minutes on treadmill (2 miles) and 2 full circuits, my regular crunch routine (I can really start to see/feel a difference in my waist now), as well as standing calf raises and free weight bicep stuff. Eileen

Eileen - I do those standing calf raises too. They work very well on me. I go up the stairs at our rec center. I do five raises per step. I can certainly feel it when I'm done!! You're doing great in your exercise, keep it up!! Hugs, Laurie

Good morning, I was so tired and really didn't feel like working out this AM but I plan on taking a day off this week so I had to get it in. Upper Body Weight Training: Chest & Arms Cardio: 30 minute spin class. I just may be able to get in a tape tonight, Walk A-Way the Pounds, but we'll see. NB S283/C210/G185-190 lbs

Hey, Laurie! Turning jello in rocks, you go girl! As for me, 30 minutes cycling to the tune of 8.62 miles. Whew! Then I did a brief ab workout: 100 hip raises (legs in the air) 100 criss crosses 5 low hovers (for a count of 25) That's all I had time for. Kathy

Good job, Kathy -- that ab work sounds rather like Pilates torture ... bet you see results in just a few weeks. Gosh, you women with recent surgeries are doing a great job! Eileen

It's a fine line between torture and pleasure...er...I mean... between Pilates and torture, no, make that... Pilates and pleasure.... oh, WHATEVER! Okay so it's just a fine line. I've been doing the ab workout for a while so I'm not sure I'll see any difference in a few weeks. Same old, same old, for a while now. But one can always hope! Recent? Define recent. My last surgery was over 2 months ago now. There is always the next one... Kathy
