Getting Labs before 1 year Appointment
I called my surgeons office a couple days ago and asked about my lab work. My 1 year appointment is on the 27th and I know how it will go...
You are doing great. You have lost 86% of you excess weight...you are exercising...you are getting in your protein...yada yada yada....I am such a good patient
Then he'll say lets draw some labs ( I have only had them done once in the past year and they were great) and I won't talk to him again for a year unless something happens
So I called and asked his nurse if I could get them drawn before I go so at least we can have something to talk about. She said she would talk to him and get back to me. Well I guess he thought it was a good idea because I got the lab slip in the mail today with all my tests marked. Now I just need to go and get them done and the results will be in the office when I go!
Ain't I so smart!! Hope that maybe this can work for others!

Hey Jen, Great idea. I was just thinking along those lines yesterday preparing for my 1 yr. visit as well. Makes good sense to have the lab results at hand at the time of the visit. Because I was a self-pay wls, I'm wondering if I need to specify for them to NOT code it related to wls so insurance won't balk at paying. What do ya think???
