Gym Is Open (Monday)

Hi everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend. I did. I didn't get all my chores done so I wish I didn't have to work today...but, that's life. Here is what I did at the gym this morning: SB Reverse Crunch 3 x 15 Stability Ball Weighted Oblique Crunch 3 x 10 each Stability Ball DB Chest Press 3 x 8 Stability Ball DB Pull Over 3 x 8 SB DB Fly 2 x 10 Lat Pull Down Wide Grip 2 x 10 Cable Biceps Curls 2 x 10 V Grip Cable Triceps Extension 2 x 10 For cardio, I did 25 minutes on the recumbant bike and 2 walking laps around the track. Hey, Lori... Headed to the gym this morning after a 5 day hiatus to find the place dark and unopened. Not sure if the gal overslept again or what. So I went home and hit the shower and came into work early. Not sure what I'll do this evening. I tend to hurt more in the afternoon and evening and mornings are my best time. But I have walked up and down the 7 flights in the building twice today so far. Gotta keep reminding myself...something is far better than nothing. Think I'll go stroll around the parking lot and get some sun. You did great! Hope that scale makes a move for you soon. You are being very patient, my dear! Kathy

Thanks Kathy! I'm trying to be patient...but, I also know that I haven't been all that great at keeping my caloric intake and carbs down where they need to be...I would like to know how much I burn. My doctor says she has a BMR (basil metabolic rate) machine and will run it on me next month. It will probably say that I need 1100 or less calories to keep losing....arrgh. Lori

We are going to an event on Saturday - Bariatric Patients Reunion from our hospital. It is a way for them to keep track of patients and their progress and get stats for that Center of Excellence rating, I think. Though I think that rating when out the window with a good doctor moving across country (my surgeon) and his partner retiring at the same time. Anyway, they'll have personal trainers and such there as well as other vendors and I know the one guy does metabolic testing. I want Rich and I both to get that done. Think that will be my one year treat to myself and his two year treat (a few months early). I'm very curious about how my body is functioning. Oh, BTW, I heard that if you have thyroid issues the testing isn't accurate though I would think with your medication and levels being stable that it should work. Be sure to check with your doctor before spending $$$ on it. Kathy

Hey Angie, It's difficult for me because my nut and my surgeon don't always agree upon things. My surgeons program involves protein supplements for life, actually as 2 meal replacements, along with 1 meal per day. That hasn't worked for me since about August. My nutritionist would rather see me get protein from food, which honestly is a struggle. I see my nut once a month, and my surgeon from this point out, will be once a yr. My goal is 100 pounds lost also which is 20 pounds away. Happy that your labs were good, thats what matters. You will get to goal, keep on trekkin! Aliya
