Gym Is Open (Friday)

I'm going to have to skip the workout this morning and get packed and checked out of the hotel. I'm going on the Katrina Hurricane tour this morning, then flying back to Salt Lake this afternoon. I'm sure I'll get in a lot of walking in the airports. What did you do to move your body today? Lori

Lori, I'll be interested in hearing about the Katrina Hurricane tour. I'm sure it will be very hard to go on but it is one of those things that does need to be seen/experienced. Have a safe trip home! Went to the gym this a.m. Did 2.5 miles on the cycle (10 minutes or so) and then lower body weight machines and stability ball stuff. Kathy

Hi Lori! I just came home from buying a bike! It's probably been 10 years or more since I've been on one that either didn't have a motor or wasn't stationary. I'm sure I'm gonna kill myself... As soon as I can tear Holden away from his Gameboy, we're going riding. Wish me luck!

Hi Becky, I'm going to play "Mom" here for a minute ... As someone who has avoided serious head injury by wearing a bike helmet, I will just say, please, please, please buy and USE a bike helmet. Eileen (I went over a small cliff on a mountain bike one time ... helmet saved my noggin.)

Awww, thanks, Eileen... I'm ashamed to say it, but I don't usually wear one... And even worse, I don't wear when I'm riding my motorcycle, either... I know, I know... I do weather long sleeves, leather and boots (on the mc not the bicycle)... To be perfectly honest, as dumb as it sounds, I'm much more afraid of road rash than I am of hitting my head... No excuse, I know... I promise, though, if I ever go mountain biking off a small cliff, I'll wear a helmet... Scout's honor!

Good luck with your new bike Becky...I want to buy one too, but, I think I want to weight 200 lbs or less before I get one, so that will be my goal! I haven't been on one for years either...I keep thinking that a very wide bottom on a bike isn't a pretty sight! Good for you! Lori
