Gym Is Open (Thursday) & notes about New Orleans
I walked 3 miles last night all around the French Quarter. New Orleans is still very sad. The French Quarter did not received the heavy hurricane damage of the rest of New Orleans, but, it is really feeling the heavy economic damage of the lack of tourism. People here are resilient and trying to make it. When you walk around and look inside the many many bars and restaurants, there are only a handful of people. The couple of gay bars I walked by last night were packed, but, the other places had no one. I'm planning on taking the "hurricane tour" today...I'm sure it will break my heart, but, I think I should see it. I've been tipping a lot more than usual and I've bought a few things, I feel I need to help these folks out because there are so few of us. There is certainly no room for me to feel sorry for myself about anything down here...these folks have the challenges!
Anyway, I did not make it to the gym this morning, but, plan on going tonight after my conference day is over. Or maybe take a swim as this little hotel gym is so small that you have to take turns using the machines.
What did you do to move your body today?
Lori
all I've done is run errands all day. I'm trying to get things wrapped up before surgery Monday.
I had a skin care class yesterday and then a double facial last night. Tonight I have another double facial to do.... the list just keeps growing and growing.
I've decided I'm done going to the rec center until after I recover from surgery. I hope I dont' loose too much strength, I was just getting to where I felt so GOOD!!!!
