Test and surgery

Saw my surgeon today. Last time I saw him he poked my belly yet I couldn't pinpoint where exactly I hurting. I made sure I knew where it was and he doesn't feel anything of note but he did compliment me on my abs. He could tell I do crunches. LOL! No hernias could be felt. He wants me to go get a colonoscopy to be sure there aren't any issues there so I have to go back to the gastroenterologist (or hopefully just call to schedule it - I hope, I hope) who I just saw on Monday. Oh joy. I don't mind the thought of the test. I mind the thought of the bowel prep as well as the pre-colonoscopy diet cuz I get hypoglycemic. Anyway, if the colonoscopy is a-okay as he suspects and my pain is still there... it is exploratory laproscopic surgery for me. While he is in there he'll close off the mesenteric defect and remove any adhesions if there are any. Apparently, I'm NOT done with surgery yet... crappola. Kathy

Kathy I have got to give it up to you! With all your drama you remain so positive. I have had nothing bad (knock on wood) happen to me. My DH says I am a poster child for WLS. I just have so much respect for your sunny disposition. I always wish you the best!

Thanks, Jen! My disposition is more partially cloudy with bouts of sunshine these days but there are always rays of sunshine there. LOL! I figure there could always be worst things, ya know. It helps me keep things in perspective and keeps me grounded. The best to you too! Kathy

Good luck Kathy! A colonoscopy is a great idea...I know it doesn't sound like it, but, it is. The CIO where I work, who is 49 just got diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He had no symptoms! We gotta keep an eye on these things! Lori

No complaints about the colonoscopy itself. Gonna have to have one done at some point so no time like the present, right? It is more the logistics that cause me a bit of heartburn. LOL! My neighbor just had one this week and I was telling her that I took my ex-husband to his last year. When I told some folks about taking him they said "You took your ex-husband????" I replied that he didn't have anyone to take him and sometimes you just need to ask for help. We don't dislike each other - heck we amicably share custody of the dog. I ran his home business after we separated while he was out of state with the Army. But best of all, I told them... that I had the opportunity to take my ex to a place where someone was going to shove something up his arse - one doesn't get opportunities like that often so one must go with it. Hang in there Kathy, hopefully this will be over with soon and you'll have some closure to your pain. I wish you the best! Sue McD
