I guess I'm just in a rambling mood tonight. As we're approaching our one year surgiversary, I've been reminscing quite a bit over the last year. I still remember how I felt a year ago today. The anticipation, fear and excitement. I remember that right around this time, I had scheduled my surgery date and was so bummed that I could have had it in April if it hadn't been for my class schedule. I wanted to wait until finals were over. But, it all worked out in the end. If I HAD scheduled surgery earlier, I might not have met all you guys. I think of you all every day, even those of you who rarely post anymore or those who've only posted a few times. I feel so honored to have been able to share this experience with you. Honestly, it just overwhelms me... Okay, I'll quit being a crying boob now. I just wanted to let you all know how much I love you. Becky

Since I qualify as one of those that posts infrequently, I thought I would also share in this discussion! I am sure that there are others like me that read the posts every day, and feel as though we have shared in each other's lives. We share many of the same issues, problems, joys and triumphs. I, for one, thank you for your many enlightening posts. We have become a "sisterhood" of sorts, (since the majority of posts are from great women like you!) Keep writing and sharing..........you will never know how many lives you touch. What a year it has been for all of us!

Its so great to see all of you Mayers doing well - I am so excited about hitting the one year mark. It really seems like just yesterday that I was on here terrified - and was looking to all of you guys for support. This tool is amazing...and I feel we will all be learning from each other for years to come!

I luv you too! All of you. I'm sure we're all having the same thoughts, I remember I could have had my surgery on April 25, but I chose May 2. And I met all of you! What a great group!

The feeling is totally mutual... My daughter and I were playing the "What would you do with a 10 million dollars?" game in the car yesterday. (The local lottery is high again). She talked about hot cars and houses and things.... The first thing that came to my mind was.... I'd fly all my May buddies down to my favorite resort (Caneel Bay) for a week of fun and sun. You guys are the best... This email came today from a friend that I've been helping out of a bind... You all will probably appreciate the moral. ******************************************************* The Power on Encouragement A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they yelled to the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept yelling to them to stop, that there was no hope. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died. The other frog continued jumping as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop his jumping and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, (after taking a needed rest) the other frogs clamored, "Didn't you hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time. From this we learn two lessons: 1. There is power of life and death in what you say. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day. 2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them. ******************************************************* You guys are the definition of Encouragement. Kate Z

Awwww, I love that. Kathy p.s. Love the resort idea. If you only knew how much I could use a trip like that... Ah, but you do. I know you do.
