A feeling crappy day

That's what it's been... All except hearing from my sister and her medical treatment plan. That was a good thing. Nice to have the plan, ya know. I went to see my surgeon this morning. He does think I have an ulcer and put me on protonix and carafate. He wants me to see gastroenterologist for a consult and get an EGD. For my other pain, we are going to do another CT scan with contract (IV and oral). That is scheduled for Friday. If the CT scan shows nothing... he might send me to a neurologist to rule out referred pain. I just don't think that's it but I'll gladly get checked out. I stop at the gastro's office since it is in the next building and I'm told that I have to call in to make an appointment. I have to talk to the doctor's appointment nurse. I get to work and I'm just not into working at all. I putter around. I take my calcium tablets which I always take and they caused me real pouch pain. Owie they hurt. It wasn't call 911 type pain but I was not happy. I call the gastro's office and leave a message for said appointment nurse. NEVER got a call back. Of course, my side pain (separate from pouch pain) shows up or gets louder and is a pest. I go get my prescriptions filled and stop at the hospital to pick up my lovely bottles of barium to drink before the CT scan. The lady at radiology window is on the phone but asks me what i'm there for. I tell her and she tells me to sit down all the while trying to remember my name and when I have my scan scheduled for. I wait. I read a magazine. I wait more. All I want is my flipping barium. That's it. I waited close to an hour and finally went back up there. The guy back there asks what he can do for me. I say "I just came to pick up barium and I've been waiting for close to an hour." He looks sheepish and I point at the lady and said "She told me to sit down and wait." The lady didn't apologize or anything. She mutters about having a bad day and that she should go home. L-O-S-E-R. Next, my eye is irritated for some reason and that started this afternoon. It feels dry. Just the one eye. So I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to set up my schedule for taking carafate 4 times in a day and all my vitamins. Carafate interfers with vitamin absorption. It has to be taken on an empty stomach or 2-3 hours after a meal and 1 hr before or 1 hour after vitamins. My heading is spinning... HAVE A NICE DAY! Wow... that is crappy... If it's any consolation, I can't really discuss it here, but my day was pretty crappy, too... I think we should just ban today. Make today illegal... Are you with me? Good luck with your carafate. You pretty much are eating or drinking at all times during the day, or at least every couple of hours - definately going to mean a total schedule switch for you, isn't it? That would really peeve me, I don't like having my schedule messed with. Here's to today almost being over!
