Only
"Only"
Context: "I've only lost xx lbs."
Problem: This utilization of the word belittles the progress that we've made so far. Whether we have lost 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100, 150 or 200 lbs in the past 10 months... we have all come so very far. We have never lost this much weight in this small a period of time. We survived major surgery, have dealt with food issues/tolerance and have adapted to a new and different way of doing things. That unto itself is an incredible accomplishment.
We need to embrace and celebrate our accomplishments and stand tall and proud and say "I've lost xx lbs" (and be sure to include lots and lots of exclamation points after that.)
