Rich just loves when I step out of the bathroom and say "Guess what? I've gained 4 lbs since yesterday." He just cannot believe the fluctuations that my body goes through. I'm pretty much unphased by it. (Is that the right phased for the situation?) Oh, lots of things contributed to that 4 lbs... low hydration (don't seem to get all my water in on the weekends), eating out so more salt than normal, more carbs then usual and not having a BM yesterday (sorry...but it's true). The one thing I know didn't contribute to that weight gain... is eating more than 3,000 calories over what I burn for each of those pounds. Heck probably only ate 1500 calories for the whole day if that much. And weight thing is that we had lunch around 1:30-2:00 yesterday. More carby then I'm used to. We had appetizers... lightly breaded popcorn shrimp, shrimp stuffed with cheese (breaded in tortilla crumbs) and onion rings (of sorts). Not the wisest food choices but an indulgence is nice now and then. Anyway, around 4:30 or so I had a Stallone protein pudding and light cool whip. Light cool whip is very low cal and sugars. Anyway about 5:30 or so I realized that I felt very hot. Took my blood sugar. It was in the 60s so a bit on the low side. Have no clue why an hour after eating something that is protein... my sugar would be down. I don't think the carbs from lunch 4 hours earlier came into play but who knows. Very strange. The cool whip has maybe 3 grams of sugar per 2 TBSP so maybe I had 6 grams total? I dunno. Anyway, back to my week time routine. Pushing the fluids and no carbs of any consequence in sight (I do eat vegie carbs and some fruit). Kathy

Kathy It must be a moon phase... I craved salt all weekend.... The inside of my mouth is actually sore today because I caved and had some chips and dip. Luckily, I weighed in on Thursday last week... (my anniversary). I'm trying to be good about not getting on the scale every week. I'm sure if I did my progress would look like an EKG strip. Last month was my slowest loss month yet... 4 lbs... maybe they left me and went to you? I hope that's not the case, because I'm determined to loose 10 this month. Watch out... Kate Z

Yes, weight fluctuations suck! But like you said, you're not gaining fat, so don't worry too much about it. BTW, do you like the Stallone pudding?

I do like the Stallone puddings but I wait to buy them when they go on sale at drugstore.com and places like that. I don't remember if you do protein supplements or not but personally for me I don't count the puddings as my protein supplements for the day. I do consider them the same as food protein! My reasoning, they are soy protein and not whey protein. Soy protein isn't as bioavailable to us as whey protein. I found a chart on netrition.com of how bioavailable various forms of protein are to us. (I'm such a protein geek, I swear.) Kathy

Kathy, I'm sorry to say this, but I'm glad to hear that someone is experiencing abrupt weight fluctuations too. I weigh (officially) once a week. And this week I had jumped up 5 lb.s. Naturally I've weighed every day for the past 2 days and my weight has increased a lb. a day for a total GAIN of 7 lb.s. Now I haven't been perfect, there were some grahm cracker cookies in my recent past, but I KNOW that it is not possible to have consumed enough calories to gain 7 lb.s in 10 days. Its great that you don't let it freak you out but I gotta tell you, I am TOTALLY freaked out by this recent turn if events. Even my rings and jeans feel tight! Andrea
