Poll: Who is 100-149 lbs from goal?
Well that's me i fit in this category. To be at 160 lbs which is the high part of normal for me. I beleive it is possible. I know it has taken me years to get that heavy. I expect it to take awhile to get down. But I have come along way since last year. I am down about 130 lbs I can work on my feet now. I have the ability to work an 8 hr shift. I started an new job at safeway in january. Our union isn't as stron in arizona as in some states but I love it. I am hoping to be able to use this job to transfer with next year. I have about 30 more days befor my 90 day probationary period is over. Then it is just keep doing a good job. I am down to one pill now just for high blood pressure. My doctor said that may never go away. That there are small people with high blood pressure too. I am ok with that. I feel better and see a difference in myself. I look at old pictures especially at the hospital when I had my son and it is hard to beleive I was ever that big. I have always been worried about my son but so far he is ok. When I was his age i already had a weight problem. With my energy and ability to get us both active and the change in food I beleive that he will be ok. I am grateful for everyone on this web site. I am also greatful for my surgeon and that my insurance approved my surgery. I am becoming a butterfly and becoming a healthy person.
The "turkey" becomes a beautiful butterfly!
Glad to hear that your health has made wonderful improvements. That's awesome! Congrats on the job and better yet the physical ability to do that job and do it well.
I think it is awesome that you are watching out for your son. What better way then to be a live example of eating healthy and being active. Honestly, I remember my mother at age 50ish or so telling me how she wished I'd lose weight and how I had my whole like ahead of me... yada yada yada. At 50, her life wasn't behind her - or it shouldn't have been. The best thing she could have done is to work with me to eat healthier and be active. I remember the younger days when we would all shoot hoops in the yard. Even mom.
Spread your lovely wings, butterfly!

I am((((raising hand)))) Me!Me!Me! I can't do this Kathy! I am 10 months out and only 60lbs down. I have 100+lbs to go. I am a slow loser and excercise 5x a day. I try to eat healthy but end up doing bad. I have freinds that have had the surgery and never worked out and have lost all of the weight that was needed. They ate junk, which they are paying for now,but my point is that I ame working out and trying my best to eat healthy at least 60-40% of the time. I havn't heard anyone on this site being such a slow loser such as me. Isn't my "Honeymoon Period" almost over? Kathy this really "Bites". I am so tired and frustrated.
Rosie
Honestly, I think the honeymoon period can extend for as long as you work hard at it. I think the weight is easier coming off in the beginning and the longer it takes you to lose... the harder it is. That being said, hard does not mean it is impossible. I know someone two years out who is losing. I think they didn't lose for a while but they are back losing again. It can be done!
If you want to, post a new message to the group. Let us know what your typical day's eating is and what your exercise routine is. Perhaps someone can provide some feedback and some ideas for changes that might get ya moving again towards that goal!
I'm sorry you are so frustrated.
Hugs, Kathy
