Self-Aged Vintage Clothing (& Plastics)
Went through a couple of my space bags full of "old" self-purchased, self-aged vintage clothing today. What fun! Found several things that work some vintage 1982 and some vintage 1990 both when I was in this weight neighborhood. Got a couple of dresses and some summer blouses.
Of course due to the age of some of the clothing some of the first things to go were the big shoulder pads stuffed into them. I hate those things. Hated them back then, hate them now. My shoulders are broad enough thank you very much.
Some of the stuff doesn't fit though I weigh as little as I ever have as an adult so things are definitely "rearranged" aka my waist is 4" bigger then back then and my bust (such that it rolls up into) is probably 1-2" bigger. Weirdly my arse is smaller, me thinks. Whoda thunk that possible?
I definitely have a few more things to donate that there is just no way that I am going to wear out in public.
Rich's comments after seeing me strut around in a few things "I am no longer going to comment on you being a packrat." So, I guess some of the things looked really nice on me and hey...it beats spending money now, ya know?
The big things that I cannot fit in are some fitted dresses and all my old mostly wool skirts. The waists are just too small. The big issue, I suspect, is extra skin around my middle. If I were ever able to get plastics, I'm sure that would knock a good 4" or more off my middle. I have some beautiful classic wool skirts some of which were my mothers from the 1950-60s. Gorgeous a-line. Perhaps some day...
On another note...went to one of my support group meetings today. Saw the one woman who went to Brazil early this year for plastics. She had 3 surgeries in 5 weeks. She spent 39 days there total. She had lower body lift/thighs, boob lift/augmentation, arms, face lift. While she was there she also had porcelian veneers put on her teeth and bleaching and a mini-peel on her skin. All of that including the flights and hotel were about $25K. Amazing. Her surgeon was Dr. Fabio (forget his last name). Many post-ops go see him. Think his website is mednetbrazil.com - he does consults in the states once a year. Heard nothing but good things but I think I'd have trouble having surgery out of the country, ya know? His prices are amazing. Oh and of course she looks absolutely amazing! Her facelift alone made her look 10-15 years younger. (She is 65.)

Kathy,
I've really been digging through clothes and moving them out as well. I gave 2 big bags of clothes to a friend who has stage 4 breast cancer. All those steroid and chemo treatments have blown her up like a balloon. I feel so bad for her, but, at least she now has some clothes to wear. Going through clothes like this is weird, really weird. I don't think anyone who hasn't lost over 100 lbs can really relate...
I think I'd have problems going out of country for Plastic Surgery too... who knows, if I really do get to my goal weight and keep it off for 18 months or so, I just might do it out of desperation...this skin thing is something else!
