Pause/plateau has budged

My long, long pause has budged a little bit. I don't know what did it, but these are the things I've been trying: - upped my exercise days significantly (from 5 days/week to 6-7 days/week) - upped my exercise time from 40 minutes to 1 hour - started doing the weight circuit at 24-Hour (This has been kicking my butt) - I had been having a PowerCrunch Bar for breakfast every day since about 1 month out. I have switched to 1 cup of old fashioned oats with 5 chopped almonds and a little cinnamon. It's same calories, tastes better, and is a superfood!! Upped my calories a little bit. I had been getting around 900 calories per day. - I added an AdvantEdge protein drink (110 calories) as a morning snack. I haven't been hungry for a morning snack, but I pushed this protein - Ate lots and lots of fish meals for dinners. - Ate lots of McDonald's Cobb salads for lunch (1/2 at a sitting). 140 calories and lots of protein. This stuff may have helped, it also may be just letting my body have some time to adjust. Who knows. Perhaps since I'm one of the 'early Maysters' I'm leading the pack for getting those of us who are on pauses off .... Eileen

"Leader of the Pack" is now running through my head... LOL! The key to getting the scale moving again is to definitely shake things up. Get out of the routine. Vary your calories...go higher one day and lower the next. Don't keep it the same every day. If you regularly bicycle, use the treadmill or ellipitical machine. Variety keeps the body on its toes and boy did you prove that by making changes!!!! Excellent, Eileen! Kathy

Congratulations Eileen! You made a lot of changes for the better and I am glad you're seeing results! I've also incorporated more fish based meals. I'm a seafood eating vegetarian, and most of my meals were either "bean" or "cheese" based, with a "fish" based meal only happening one per week or less. My new goal is to have a seafood based dinner three or four times per week. The fish is lower in fat and calories than the 2% cheese I eat. Congrats again and keep up the excellent work! Hugs, Tracy

Eileen, I think keeping your body guessing really helps! Sounds like you are doing great!!!! Keep it up! Lori P.S. Also, you are pretty close to goal, I know it is slower when you are there! But, you are still within your window of opportunity!
