May-sters poll!
1. How far post-op are you? 10 months today!
2. What surgery did you have? Lap RNY
3. State/country you live in? Nevada
4. Age? 34
5. What was your most recent WOW moment since surgery? My wow moment is going to happen at the end of the month, when we fly to London for vacation. I am going to enjoy the 9 hour flight so much more in a seat where I have extra room!
6. What is the latest goal you had set for yourself that you have met? To lose an additional 4 pounds before our cruise in January. I barely made it!
7. What is your favorite (or most tolerable) protein supplement? Worldwide Protein in cans
8. (New Question) What is your "trigger" food? Pretzels and chips. A co-worker brought in lots of them after a party. I can't seem to walk passed them without grabbing a handful.
9. What food just isn't working for you? Pasta, which is a good thing!
10. Are you exercising? If so, what are you doing and how much? Yes, work out with a weight trainer 3x a week, then try and get 20-30 minutes cardio in 2-3 times a week. I really need to concentrate on getting in more cardio.
11. What is your next goal(s)? To lose 3 more pounds before traveling to London, and to fit into a size 10 without my gut and extra skin hanging out everywhere.
12. How are people reacting to the changes in you? Overall, very positively. The weight loss is so slow now, that I think people have become comfortable with the way I look. I don't feel a need to explain myself to others that don't know I've had the surgery. I used to have to tell everyone to explain why I ate the way I did, didn't order a drink with dinner, etc. I think I'm getting more comfortable with myself as well!
13. Do you have any regrets about the surgery? Only that I did not get my courage up at let 3 years pass before doing it. But in the end, I think the timing was right.
14. (New Question) Are you having any "issues" as a result of your surgery/weightloss? Yes! I am having a hard time adjusting to the hair loss. It's growing back in, but I just want to have it look better right now! Also, I don't think I'll ever lose all the extra skin and gut around my waist. I am having big issues with snacking right now, and I can tell that this will be my lifelong battle.

I almost forgot one of my most important goals coming up. My husband and I are going to try for a baby again. We have been trying off and on since 1999, and basically through all the fertility testing, determined that my weight was the cause of the infertility. So, hopefully it will be smooth sailing this time.
I am trying not to get too wound up about it yet, because it had been a very stressful time in the past. So send me good baby vibes!
