9.5
No, it's not my shoe size or my upper arm measurement.
It is the score that the Olympic judges held up as my blood test were checked for calcium. That is just a picture perfect number that my body hasn't seen in several years due to my parathyroid adenoma. I don't care that the Olympic judges didn't give me 10s. Plus the Russian judge never gives anyone a 10. 9.5s straight across the board - ROCK!
I'm so thrilled. You just cannot even imagine. Not only is my calcium completely normal... my half of a thyroid is doing the job of the full one. My numbers were excellent.
Talked to my surgeon about the tingling, pins/needles, etc in my feet and hands. Told him the foot cramps were there Wednesday and lightly on Thursday but done since. He thinks the hypocalcemia (low calcium) symptoms could possible be my body's response to the drop in calcium several points right after surgery. I'm to monitor my symptoms. I have an appointment with my PCP next week and will ask about some vitamin checks (surgeon said my blood work can basically wait til my 1 year post-op visit since I've had most of the tests done between pre-op testing and the tests the endo did Friday). I also see the endo in a month for monitoring of my calcium, PTH and thyroid.
I'm so happy. I'm so relieved. I"m so thrilled.
