Sick for the 1st time
Unfortunately, I found something that made me *really* sick. Crab cakes!
My husband made them, I asked him to cut the bread crumbs by half. Well, he decided to use some of the pre-made canned crumbs, which are much finer than fresh crumbs, so I think I ended up with a lot more bread crumbs than I was expecting. I only ate 1 1/2 (they are made in a muffin tin). Couple that with a day where I'd been a bit gassy and I was miserable!!
Nertz, I even had to miss out on my symphony tickets last night. DH was performing, too ...
Bad night. Still a bit gassy today, but a *little* better.

Sorry to hear you had problems yesterday, Eileen. Sorry to hear about missing the symphony.
Hope today is much better for you!
What instrument does your DH play? A friend of mine works for the NSO here in Washington. She arranges musicians, travel arrangements, etc. It is nice to have her back in Washington DC. She originally worked for the Pittsburgy Symphony and then the Tampa Symphony before moving back a couple of months ago.

DH is a singer. He's sings with Utah Opera Company normally, but the Utah Symphony was doing a major choral work, so the Opera Company all got invited to join.
I missed seeing him in his tux (I did see him when he left the house). DH resembles George Clooney in "Goodbye and Goodnight" and when he's in a tux I swoon!!
Oh wow - sorry!
I have yet to be sick from anything and have probably tried just about everything I have ever eaten pre-op.
I even went to Hawaii the last two weeks - was able to eat at all the restaurants and did pretty well. I, of course, was so worried that I gained weight - it seemed like all we did was eat - and desserts were included (well some bites!). Turns out I didn't gain - probably lost about 1.5 over the two week period - so no complaints here!
I must admit that I feel so much better now that I am eating MUCH less. I really only eat 3 small meals a day - each are just ALL protein. I have totally fallen away from the protein shakes...but make sure that I keep my milk intake up - and that each protein meal is at least 15 grams.
Has anyone else had NO sickness at all? No dumping whatsoever? I keep thinking I am one of the lucky ones, but wonder if I would be losing more if I was VERY restricted on what I could eat. As of now I am down about 95 lbs - so no complaints really - my surgeon thinks that 160 would be a good weight for me...that is only 4 lbs away - and I don't think I plan to stop there! I was thinking more along the lines of about 145 - but who knows....I guess my body will tell me when it doesn't feel like getting any smaller!

Hey, Danielle - I've not found anything that makes me sick yet either. I haven't tried sugar, so I'm not sure about that, and too much greasy-fat makes me nauseous and sleepy, but for the most part I can eat anything.
I was just vising my family in Arizona and we ate out SERIOUSLY everyday, sometimes 2-3x a day and I, like you, was worried that I'd gained weight. I tried to eat pretty sensibly, though while we were gone, I would always order something high in protein (like once we went to a pasta place and I ordered a shrimp pasta platter and ate all the shrimp and only like 2 pieces of pasta) so I'm sure that helped, but I was happy to be back at home in my 'safe place' so I knew exactly what was going into my food!
