Quiet Day
Here on the old OH May boards.
Rich and I did the breakfast then errand thing...Walmart and Costco. Then we headed out for lunch and decided to go to that Russell Stover outlet to get our fill of sugar alcohol-laden foods.
We were on lovely I95 when the side of a trunk tire met the driver's side rear door of the caddie. Made a nasty sound but not much of an impact. Rich was cussing but calmed as the truck driver said "Oh, did I hit you..." I looked at him and said "Ummm, YEA!" We got his info. Luckily there was no impact just the equivalent of scraping so I think my back is safe. No jarring. Whew. I was scared of that. It is very sensitive. And the car was lucky...doesn't really look dented... just paint damage.
All that for a SF caramel egg.
(Or a dozen SF caramel eggs...ummm, 3 dozen... and the case of toffees.... and the SF peanut butter santas...)
Kathy (who limits herself to 2 pieces max per day not every day since she doesn't want to toot the day away)
Lori,
Oh you betcha. I have to limit that stuff otherwise I pay dearly with gas pains. And to be honest... a small amount savored does the trick. Gives me a sense of sweetness/treat without setting off sugar cravings.
The outlet is about an hour away so it was a drive to get there. But their prices are insane. We got a box that has 4 boxes of 6 - 2 packs of the SF toffee squares which are my favs. So that is 24 - 2 packs. The whole box cost $2.99. I am not kidding! If you have a fav, let me know and next time I go and if the weather is still cool enough..I can ship them out to ya.
We got a box of 36 SF caramel eggs for $11. We didn't buy choco chips this time since we still have them in the freezer. Like to put them in those magic peanut butter cookies (the ones that are just PB, egg, vanilla and splenda).
The car was very, very lucky. Heck, we were very, very luck. Just the truck tire touch the car and rubber against metal is much less damaging then metal again metal. Thank goodness. Poor caddie! Rich drives a 2000 Cadillac DeVille. We bought it from my dad last year and my mother passed away. He and mom had bought the car in July of 2004, mom passed away in September so she barely got a chance to drive it. Plus it was bought in Florida... and was probably previously driven by some little old lady on Sunday because it only had 20000 miles on it. LOL! As our neighbor's say "Rich is pimpin'"
