Never Would Have Done This a Year Ago

I signed up for the Breast Cancer 3-Day. 60 miles in 3 days! I am beginning a training program. I have been pretty good about working out, but now I have something specific to train for. My grandmother died of breast cancer in 1969. My mom's two sisters are breast cancer survivors. That's a lot stacked against me genetically. Thank you so much my surgery twin. I just saw your name on my page and could not for the life of me think of who Kathy W****** was. I thought I recognized your friend's name. Now I know who you are and I do recognize her name because you have mentioned her before on this board. From what I hear, the whole BC3D journey is an incredibly emotional and a truly life-changing experience. It is one that I am looking forward to and very excited about. You made me cry at my office yesterday! I told my sister her name would be on a t-shirt many states away! We had a big chuckle together and she thought it was very nice. Thanks so much, Kathy

Jennifer, what an incredible thing for you to do! I can't contribute financially at this time, but I'll be praying for you! My grandmother passed away from breast cancer a few years ago and a friend of mine passed away just about 2 weeks ago in what started as breast cancer but spread just about everywhere in her body before it finally took her. You're doing a great thing. Thank you! Michelle

Michelle, Prayers are just as, if not more, important as financial support. Thank you so much for including me and this important cause on you prayer list. My condolences on the loss of your friend. Congrats! I've been interested in this also. But, the closest is Seattle. I may shoot for that, but am concerned that the humidity might kill me. Eileen

Eileen, Don't you know that whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger? That is definitely a lesson I have learned through this whole WLS journey. As for the humidity, there's always the Phoenix walk in November. Please think seriously about. It is an amazing opportunity. Take care, J
