Hi, All! Checkin' in...

Howdy, folks! I'm sort of hear and alive and somewhat kicking. I'm pretty tired as I guess should be expected. I honestly never realized how much you move your neck or use it for stuff. I'm not in much pain but it is the fairly constant pulling on my neck that bothers me a bit. No pain meds. I haven't needed them. But my neck itches like a bandit and I swear my waddle is bigger now. Plus I look like heck-in-a-handbasket... big rings under my eyes and pale. Oh joy! Then I got steri-strips across my lower neck to the tune of 3 inches even. (I measured.) Icky! I'll probably go to work for a while tomorrow but not long. I have to try to locate a document for them. Long story but it's on my PC somewhere. Rich, of all things ran into my surgeon at Costco this morning. All of a sudden he hears "How is Kathryn doing?" and he turns and there is Dr. Moazzez. So Rich told him I was doing well, coughing a bit of gook up, not in pain but tired. He was happy to hear. Nice man, my surgeon. Also excellent technician. I've been resting most of the day. Got an appetite again which is good. Rich has been busy cooking... got a pot of chili on, he made me my fav chocolate dip for strawberries, and he is making a noodless lasagna (we call it lasagna slop). Due to my throat...softer is better at this point. Thats what is going on here. Kathy

Kathy, Glad to hear you are doing well. Don't get too concerned with how your neck looks. It takes a real long time for all the swelling to heal and the scar to fade. That is just the way it is. I know patience is hard with these things. I have to keep repeating this to myself all the time! Take good care of yourself! Lori
