I got a job!

Well, its been nice having a just over a week off but I am back to work on Monday. When they "downsized" us it was to pay for this new CRC (customer resource center) that the company is starting. We were invited to apply for the open positions (some were already filled). Well I was one of 20 people to apply for 2 openings and I won! I start back on Monday and I am being assigned to my old team which is great because I already know alot of the customers! Best of all I got a raise of about $11k, cant beat that! Cary

Cary, This is great news! I really feel for all the people caught up in the downsizing that is running rampant in this country. I'm so happy for you and your raise! Woohoo! Lori

Congrats Cary, that's wonderful!!! -- a free week of vacation, although stressful I'm sure and now a raise! Good for you!

Hi Aliya! How ya been? I have to tell you I found a new dating venue, here in MI we have this radio station dating line. Dont know if they have those there but man I have been out on dates like a mad man lately, lol. Still havent found prince charming but at least the frogs pay for dinner Cary

Hi Cary, So glad to hear you got a new job. You must feel pretty proud being chosen out of 20 people. I was downsized 2 years ago after working at Eastman Kodak Co. for 32 years (I started when I was only 2 years old). After being out of work for 9 months (and getting very nervous) I was hired at Excellus BC/BS. Been here about a year now. You were lucky you got a raise, I'm down about $7K and it's alittle tight but at least I found a job. And you got a week off - how wonderful. Take care and enjoy your time this week. Cindee
