Hi everyone! I had an arm lift on Monday and I feel awesome! Very little swelling, had my drains taken out yesterday, and I got a peek, and they look awesome, even though they are swollen and I cant even imagine how great they will look when the sewlling is down. Didnt see the incision, my ps said that she didnt want me to see it because it's fresh and will not look like it does after it is healed. To tell you the truth Im not thinking about the scar and hope it's not bad, but I'm not going to worry about that. They are still swollen, but not much, the worst I am told is over. Not much pain, mostly burning in my arm pit area. I just take half a vicodin during the day and one at night to help me sleep. I get my wraps taken off on Tues and a compression garment in the wraps place... I cant wait to take them off... they are annoying. Other than that, I feel great! Like I said, no pain at all, just burning. I cant wait to take pics. If anyone has questions, let me know! Gia

Hi Tammy, My surgery cost was 6100 and it was out of pocket. It wasnt covered by ins and I was told that ins rarely covers it. Recovery isnt as bad as I thought it was going to be, no pain, mostly burning. I am going back to work tomorrow and I feel great. Cant wait to take the stupid ace bandages off though. I can take them off to shower but then I have to put them back on. Gia

Thanks Lori. So far it hasnt been that bad, just a little burning. I cant wait to see what they look like when the swelling goes down. I'm told it will take a few months. But I cant wait! Gia

When is the best time to go for an arm lift? I believe I will definently need one and I was wondering if I should wait until I am closer to goal. Does insurance cover this type of surgery?

Hi Shawna, I am about 20 lbs from goal. My PS said that my arms werent going to change much so I decided to go ahead and do it. I would definately recommend doing it in the winter or fall because I am wrapped from shoulder to hand and I go on Tues to take the wraps off, then I have to wear a compression garment for a few weeks. My insurance didnt cover and I was told that they dont cover an arm lift because it's considered cosmetic. Good Luck. Hope I helped! Gia

Gia I would love to see some pictures! There was this girl on Tyra Banks last week with lots of "bat wings" She said that at over 500lbs she wasn't told she would have extra skin after WLS...how crazy is that!
