Okay, so, new car (see post below), more technology than I'm used to, I guess. Start car to warm up. Lock doors to keep theives from stealing said new car. Did you know that if the car's running and you lock it, the remote keyless entry doesn't work? I didn't.... Becky Waiting for the emergency unlock service to get here and feeling like a total Goombah....

Happens to the best of us.... Simple car trick: I got 2 part key chains for all of my family.... You keep your Key on one part and "remote" on other. If you want to keep the car running and locked, you take the remote with you." also, two of our cars have "valet keys"... I keep them on the "remote" side of the chain just in case.... It comes in handy. Good luck learning the idiosyncrasies of your new ride.... Kate Z

Yup, had the two-part key chain. Problem is, I only have 1 key. I had the key in the ignition to warm the car up and the remote fob in my hand... Problem is, if running, Ford's won't unlock... Wanna know how I know that? I paid the nice young kid who unlocked my truck 40 bucks to let me in on that one... I do have a key pad on the driver's door but need to get it out to the dealership to have it reset, as well as get about 5 copies of the key to scatter around my house, the doghouse, under the porch mat, with my neighbors, etc., etc....
