Almost Normal
Hello Everyone,
I got on my scales this morning, a normal part of my morning ritual, and it said 151 pounds. That's only 2 pounds from a normal BMI. Who'd have ever thought that I would have a normal BMI, and in only slightly over 9 months. I am shocked and amazed. I just don't yet feel normal. Sometimes, I still see that blasted fat girl in the mirror, but her appearances are less often than before. I guess one day, she'll be gone forever.
How are you guys doing on your quest for a normal BMI?
Are you ever afraid that you'll be too thin? I am afraid that I'll be too thin after I have some skin removed. What a hoot is that, too thin!
Sonja
Hi Sonja,
I'm 7 pounds from a normal BMI and just starting my "loss cycle" for the month. I pretty much lose about 6-8 pounds a month, all right at one time, so I'm thinking I might actually hit it this month.
Like you, most of the time, I don't feel "normal" but there are times when it sneaks up on me. Like last night, I was watching tv in bed and went to put some lotion on my legs and my calf felt funny to me. Well, duh, it felt skinnier!
Congratulations on your success!
Sonja,
Congratulations on that!
I have 8 pounds to go until 'normal' BMI ... never thought this would ever happen. I still want to lose 30 more, but that may be unreasonable.
I don't think I'll ever be too thin, not with all this skin flapping around. My thighs are downright scary.
I got called a 'stick' the other day. *That's* too weird.
I took a nasty tumble skiing last week, all because I can put my knees closer together than I've ever been able to before (snagged an inside edge). Had a sore knee for a few days, but otherwise unhurt. I'm not used to my new body yet.
Eileen
Eileen,
I now have only 1 pound to go to the normal BMI, but like you, I'd like to lose a little more than that. But truly, if I never lost another pound, I wouldn't care.
I too have a few skin issues. But it's nothing that a little nip and tuck won't fix. I'll just need a second job to finance my reconstruction, lol!
Good luck. You'll be "normal" before you know it.
Sonja
Hey Sonja,
Thanks for the post - it prompted me to check my BMI and I found that I am less than 2 pts (or 10lbs) away from being normal!!! I can't believe that after all these years of being so overweight - or "morbidly obese" ( I hate those words), at about 9 months out from sugery, I am sooo close to being "normal"!
Congratulations on your success!
Carol
