Gym is open (Friday)
Whoopeee! It's Friday! I think I just might take the weekend off.
I worked my abs and back today.
hip rolls
crunches
hands via knees crunches
seated knee tucks
supermans
sitting trunk extensions
single leg lifts
back extensions
bent rows
broomstick twists
I will take a 2 mile walk this evening. We are supposed to be getting a cold front some time today. Hopefully it will cool things down a bit.

Good afternoon, Seven!
I took a day off yesterday. But have to report that staying in bed an extra hour by not going to the gym...boy I was more tired during the day and missed the end of CSI last night. I was one tired lady.
Feel much better after my workout today. Did just cardio. Did 25 minutes of "Interval" at Level 2 on the Cybex Total Body Arc Trainer (aka Monster). It is harder than the Cybex Arc Trainer since the arm thingies move on this one. You can try and hold onto the sides and not work your upper body and arms if you want. I did 1.15 miles though it seemed like I did many more than that. In that time and effort, I burned well over 300 cals while I was at it.
Tomorrow I will go and a half cardio workout (15 min) and my upper body weights and abs since I have more time to get more stuff in. That will give me 2.5 cardio workouts this week and 3 weight training days.
Talked with a nice gal at the gym on Wednesday (she is also a personal trainer) and she said that their Salsa class on Sunday at noon is alot of fun so I intend to be there being my totally uncoordinated self and giving it the old college try.

You had a great workout week! Living in S.Tx., salsa is popular, not that I EVER go dancing. But, it sure would be fun to learn. I used to love dancing when I was young. I would go out almost every night and dance every song. My dh would dance them all with me. Then we got married and he's barely danced with me since! Turns out the only reason he was dancing with me was so I couldn't dance with anyone else! Ah well. The joke is on him, now he is stuck with me!!

Laurie,
I use fitday. I don't think it is accurate though as it does not match what the treadmill at the gym says I'm burning for my size and effort. It shows a much higher number at the gym because it actually takes into account my weight. You'd think fitday would do that, but, it probably just uses and average amount of calories for a normal weight (whatever that is) person.
If you find a tool that really works, please let me know.
Lori
Seven,
Well, I showed up at the gym at 5:10 am and they were there to actually let me exercise...woohoo!
Today, I did 30 minutes on the treadmill at 4 mph. Then I did a 5 minute Fit Test that is on that treadmill. It increased the incline to 5.0 and even though I did it, it ranked my fitness as "very low"...well, I'll show it very low...it should have seen me 8 months ago!
Then I did my lower body routine:
Reverse Crunch w/Squat Shuffle
Supine SB Oblique Crunch
Multi Planar Step Ups
Seated SB Shoulder Press w/Fly
Machine Leg Press
Machine Calf Raises
Machine Leg Curls
Lateral Raise w/Machine Rear Delt
Tomorrow, I meet with my trainer to get a new routine. He said in an email to me today, "Are you ready for a new and challenging routine?" I wrote back, "Uh, yeah, I guess so...she types as her hands are shaking with fear!" Yeah, I'm scared, but, I'll live, I always do!
Lori
Lori - the machine leg press is what I do to strengthen my legs. I can do 1 set of 15 with the first weight on there. Then I do it with only one leg, my right leg is soooo weak, I can't do it with weight on there at all.
Of course this is the FIRST machine, so eveyone walking in gets to see me struggeling to do this crazy machine WITHOUT any weight. I'm sure they all get a chuckle out of me. (funny part is, I'm about the skinniest person in their in the mornings)
