Well, Gang, This is it...
Today's my last day of smoking. Tomorrow's my quit date... I've been doing the Zyban for a full 2 weeks and now's the time.
I'm totally freaked out. This is the third time... The first couple of weeks are so awful. It's like one big out-of-body experience. I can't even begin to tell you what it's like.
But I'm ready. I hope "Third time's the charm."
Probably won't be on till late tomorrow, as soon as I get off work I'm going to head to the gym before class. The more I'm not in a position to smoke, the better.
Wish me luck...
Becky,
Wish you tons of luck. I know this isn't an easy thing to do.
I can tell you that my mother quit cold turkey one day after 40 years of smoking Chesterfield King no filters (highest on the tar and nicotine charts). And she did it.
My sister, obviously now with breast cancer, had to quit smoking at one of the most stressful times in her life. But she is doing it - probably has been 2 weeks now. The surgeon won't touch her til she is 4-6 weeks smoke free.
Anyway, I do feel for you! We all know you can do it!
Hugs, Kathy

Ya know what??? You have done so well these last 8 months post-op. You have followed the program and have come forth a slim and lovely woman. That same resolve to follow the pouch rules will rise up in you and you will succeed at this venture too.
Every time you have made wise food choices, it has strengthened your "NO".
Preparing you for such a time as this.
Mary
You can do it Becky!!!
I am quit since 12/31/04 and it feels so good!
Now is the time to do it. Your weight loss is still trucking along so you won't gain any weight with quitting. A girl at work who had WLS about 6 years ago and now has gained 20lbs qutting smoking. So seize the moment!!
Check out quitnet.com It is a forum a bit like here and I used it lots in the beginning for support.
