Went to the gym and did a 10 minute cardio warm-up and then did my weights machines and dumbbell exercises. Didn't do legs though since my leg muscles are so derned sore from running yesterday and because when I tried the two machines on Sunday...I don't think they do well given my lower back issues (had surgery 3/31/05). Think I'll let my running work the legs for the most part. Plus I do have some floor exercises I can do if need be given to me by physical therapists post-op. Kathy (tomorrow I'm going to run again, Wednesday is an off day)

What do you do for your abs? I started reading your profile. You have been doing this exercise thing for a while now. You are doing an awesome job! Seven

Thanks, Seven. You're doing an excellent job yourself! Anyway for abs, I alternate between several tapes: Abs of Steel (I have a bunch of these that also incorporate other toning for example: Abs and Chest of Steel, Abs and Buns of Steel, etc.), Denise Austin Short Cuts for Abs, Super Stomach by Esquire, Crunch's Ab Attack, Ab Workout for Dummies, Richard Simmons' various toning tapes all have an ab segment, Jane Fonda's Step aerobics tape has a bonus 15 minute ab workout, plus I have an Ab Doer with accompanying tapes and an Ab Roller. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say.. Crunch's Ab Attack. It's a 30 minute ab workout and some of the ab work is done standing and some is done on the floor (ie, traditional crunches). But I pretty much like all the tapes.

Seven - I wanted you to know, you've motivated me with your posts to contact my surgeon about my exercise restrictions. I am awaiting his phone call to see what he'll let me do now that I'm about a month out from shoulder surgery. I know i can't do weights, but I be I could walk at least a little! Thanks for your posts! Ashleigh
