Avoidance
Today is indeed a new day, right?
I nearly caved in even after posting that. But luckily Rich came home from work and that is evening protein shake time so I had that. Whew!
I'm really trying to skin the "extras" like the SF stuff and keep it for occassional indulgences. Problem was that we bought several things while we saw it and last week I had my hand on things each and every day - not in my best interest.
May we all find great strength today...the new day!

You may have read my "IceCream Junkie" post. I have quite a sweat tooth. I have found that a small "snack size" candy bar goes down ok, but if I try to have more than one I feel sick. (good thing)....
I quit smoking last week and got on the scale Monday to find that I had gained 2.5 pounds over the weekend. Let's see... I baked choc chip cookies for the kids, I made an apple pie with some granny smiths that someone had given us, I made Minnestroni soup with the left over spiral ham from the holidays, and I couldn't keep my damn hands off of any of the above....
I hate to say it, but I started having 2 or 3 cigs a day
this week and I haven't felt like cooking a blessed thing since.
... psycosymtomic I know, but... I think I'll deal with one obsession at a time. Loose the weight and then deal with the smoking...
It's strange how we won't go out of our way to be bad... but if it's right under our noses it finds it's way into our mouths.
No sense beating ourselves up... back on the wagon... more excersize and water. I've told my DH and kids to hide the good stuff. Don't want to deprive them, but it can't be in my line of sight.

PS... the 2.5 came back off this week and took another 3 lbs with them..
