I was wondering how many maysters have been having Weight loss related body pains? and Were? Me I have had a lot of back pains in the area just below the shoulder blades in the dead center. Tho I believe its muscle or nerve pains from the stress of my sagging man boobs (saddle bags) and the way my belly hangs and pulls on my back. It feels like a center point of all sagging areas come together and pulling in different dir. My back really only hurts when I stand still, I can walk for a longer period of time before it hurts. I have also had butt pains almost since the day of my surgery. 604/409/275

Hi Joseph, I have been having pack pains alot lately and yesterday saw the doc finally, thinking I had another kidney stone. He checked trigger points on my back and when he pushed I about flew off the table and yelped. He then sprayed some smelly stuff on my back and pushed really hard with flat hands for a couple of minutes starting at the waist and pushing up the back rt. side. I felt no relief last night but this morning the pain is hugely relieved. I think the proceedure was called 'myo-facial release'. Sort of like taking the 'traffic jam' of muscle and skeletal pain and spasms and pushing against it with force to break up the clustered stress. Hope you feel better soon. I think losing weight can be a strain to our body and it takes a toll for the body to rebalance itself and get used to the new center of gravity. Get help and support physically so your joruney can be more enjoyable. Mary

No body pains, but I do have my first underbelly rash from my sagging panni. It's most irritating.

Icky! I had some irritation under my right breast (such that is is a breast these days) several times but considering my belly...nothing. Interesting that Rich hasn't had an irritation consider how much he lost and how much extra skin is focused in the abdominal area. Remember to document, document, document those rashes. See your doctor. Take pictures. Sometimes this helps with getting insurance coverage should you want a tummy tuck. Feel better! Kathy

I know this sounds silly but a little deoderant under there helps with the rash. Every morning, it goes under the armpits, under the twins, under the belly, in the crease where your thighs attach and oh yeah the belly button. I need to buy stock in Arrid Cary

I'm having back pains too! But it has been just in the last week that I've wondered if it was WLS related. Isn't it weird how many of us go through some of the same things at the same time?????? I'm usually good for the first half of the day, but by afternoon the area around my shoulder blades are a dull ache. I think mine is related to my sagging chest and my bra trying to hold everything up. The majority of my bust is now skin, I have very little breast tissue left. When I lay on my back, all the skin drops under my arms and I'm close to flat chested! Ugh, TMI! I'm grossing myself out now!!!!!!!! Congrats on your weightloss by the way! Diane

Joseph, Best to see your doctor and find out what is going on. I think we all need to remember that with the weight coming off as fast as it does that the body has to hold itself differently and the muscles and even skeleton aren't use to it. I haven't had any new back issues (had problems before surgery) but I can tell you that less padding on my posterior definitely causes discomfort when sitting on harder type chairs. Owie! My husband has terrible posture from carrying over 200 extra pounds. He measures two inches shorter than his true height. The muscles in his upper back atrophies from lack of real use. He did get sent for physical therapy to work on that but hasn't been working out regularly lately. We are in the process of joining a gym and hope that with good regular workouts that start from scratch (very low weights since those muscles aren't very developed) will help over time. Good luck to you! Kathy

I havent had pains but boy do I have the sagging skin! Like others suggested I would ask the doc, never know what they can do to help out. On a side note, when do we get to see a new pic? A loss of over 200lbs has to look great! Cary

Joseph, My body has been having the same kinds of pains you are describing. Again, I think when I was much heavier, the weight I had in my back off set the weight I had in the front, the breasts and belly. Now, I have no weight on my back and it hurts from the weight on the front. Hopefully, it will subside as I lose more weight. I know all the working out I do is helping to build muscle to support me better. Lori 384/260.5/168
