Do you still journal?

I was really really good about journaling my food for the first 4 months. It helped so much. I am trying to get back into it by randomly selecting a day or two each week and writing it all down. I have found that I easily get 70gm of protein a day. I have really got to think about it to get that additional 10-20gms. My water intake remains pretty good. How 'bout you? Jen

I journaled all the way up to the week before Christmas, so about 7 months. I gave myself a break for the holidays just to see what happened. I've actually lost more in the last few weeks I haven't been journaling, than in the month or 2 before, so for now, I'm not doing it.

I journal my food, my exercise, and even recently started a blog to journal everything else. I didn't start journaling until a couple of months ago when the weightloss slowed down. I have learned so much from keeping track, that it has become somewhat of an obsession. Seven

I have to agree with Seven. I began journaling (writing it down on paper) about November and since do it everyday. A lot of the time I notice that I eat a lot of the same things day in and day out but it really helps me in ways I didnt imagine. I write down what I eat, exercise, and water and then on the page behind it I write down anything else (feelings, thoughts, doodles, etc) I find myself looking back at the pages often to see what I ate or how much I lost that week. I have lost 16 pounds since I started journaling. Candy

Yes I journal every bite that passes these lips. Good and bad choices. For me, it keeps me honest. Compulsive eater that I tend to be has also made me desire to NOT be honest with my food choices. When I journal it helps me get a 'reality check'. And like the others it helps me look back and see what progress I am making and if not... the food choices can indicate why. I even had an accountability partner for a few months where we daily wrote our food and kept each other 'on' the beam. My desire is to learn to eat right for life. Not without pleasure but with limits. Mary

I journal my food prior to visits with my nutritionist. Other than that, I only journal here in the daily food and exercise threads. I need to do better!
