Double-take how about Triple-take...
About 2.5-3 years ago when I was solo coming out of my practice marriage and I moved back to my old hood...I ended up going to this one local restaurant quite a bit. Started by bringing a book. Eventually hung out at the bar with the "regulars" and the bar staff and wait staff. Got to know them all. One night a guy came in and was sitting either next to me or a stool over and I notice he had a lanyard from my place of employment. Had never seen him. We chatted for a wee bit. Nothing too interesting. Then I ran into him in my office building every couple of months or so since and we'd say our cordial hellos.
Guess I haven't seen him in quite a while. Our building has 3 wings per floor (like a nuclear sign) so there isn't alot of running into folks.
Anyway today I walk down to the soda machine with a coworker and we go to get in the elevator and that guy walked by and looked. Then he whipped his head around and took a long look at me. Then another. It was funny, flattering, amazing, and just plain awlllllll-right!
