8 month anniversary today
Today is my 8-month surgery anniversary. I couldn't be more pleased with what has happened with my weight and my health. I'm fitting in 14's and some 12's (I haven't worn that size since the 5th grade). My feet thank me every morning for the lighter load. I have incredible-looking shoulders, thanks to the lap swimming that WLS has allowed me to do.
I've got to get a new picture posted, because you can really see a difference between November and now.
People talk with me and make eye contact with me like I am a 'normal' person. (That statement probably says a lot about how I was doing emotionallly before surgery.)

Eileen,
Congratulations, you look great! What a big difference. And I think from looking at the latest picture on your profile (Nov) that you might need smaller pants.
Definitely get a new picture and a close up and update your message board photo too. (I need to do that too.)
I think alot of people think that people treat us so much better not being obese...including things like smiles and eye contact. But I know that when I was heavier and feeling physically crappy and probably feeling crappy about myself...I wasn't very inviting of smiles or eye contact. I think that the reasons are shared between how society views the obese and how we feel physically and about ourself and what we emit. Lessons definitely to be learned. Thanks for sharing!
Best wishes and happy new year!
